New Site New to Internet Marketing Need Advice

first of all i want to apologize if this is in the incorrect spot
that being said i was told to come to this forum to get lots of genuine great advice
my background is in the power industry managing the money for big construction project
now to my trouble

i am about to launch a site this weekend and here is what i have in place
site - will go live friday/saturday
a good product (imo) - a twitter all in 1 automation program hosted online
a writer hired for articles - 1 a day twitter related etc.
an affiliate offer for marketers

now my concern
how to get people there
i feel that once they are there conversion rate should be decent (2-4%)conservatively
plan to ping out the articles

commissions are setup based on package they get to sign up this is the commission plan roughly a 27% commission
1 profile - $10
5 profiles - $15
10 profiles - $25
unlimited - $40

now i have keywords i want to target with adwords
but i have zero experience with that and could really use some advice there
i also want to know how to target affiliates and get them to notice it
i plan to pay out net 3 unless commissions are greater than 1k then weekly

any help on how to get off to a great start would be appreciated

Can't you use your own Twitter automation program to get your initial traffic? Sounds like you're charging about $40 for a single profile and up, so it must be something.

By the way, if you're offering any kind of guarantee on your service you might want to reconsider your Net 3 affiliate payment terms.

of course i plan to use the system to benefit the site
that being said i am trying for as broad of a reach as possible
can you expand on your net 3 thoughts?
in my mind i offer a 48 hour guarantee
but i figure the net 3 ( the way i am thinking about it is end of month + 3 days)
and minimum of $100 to keep the riff raff out

Okay, it sounded like you were planning on paying affiliates 3 days after a sale was made (subject to your minimum, of course). If you offer a 7-day guarantee period or longer, you could be doling out a lot of money that is eventually refunded to the customer.

If you really want affiliates, why don't you just put your product up on Clickbank or some such affiliate network? It doesn't have to be an ebook or video course; you can also sell memberships or site access. Your 27% commission rate would be considered rather low on CB... most affiliates expect 50% or more for info products.

would it be considered an info product? it's an actual program that people are buying memberships into... something they will log into and manage their accounts and target audience etc.

Clickbank lets you sell "recurring billing" products, such as membership sites. You can even do some funky stuff like offer a free trial period before billing actually starts or set a low entry price for the first month.

One of CB's most successful products ever, Fat Loss 4 Idiots ($21 million in sales), was based around a Web site membership of sorts.

The key to attracting top-notch affiliates is to provide them with A LOT of marketing material that they can use. Banners, autoresponder series, PPC ad copy, landing pages, whatever you can come up with. Affiliates are lazy creatures, and super-affiliates are the laziest of the bunch. Make it easy for them to sell your product and they'll make you rich.

Look in the "Warriors For Hire" section of this site. You'll find people ready, willing and able to do pretty much anything you want.

    Thanks for the Thanks. :-)
