    Sorry to hear it Desmond.

    • Don't be discouraged my friend, it should motivate you to work more on it do refine your product and view that experience as a challenge. You already taste the fruit of your labor coz somebody had purchase your product just take a closer look on the reason of the refund and try to work on that.

Don't think about it this way. Instead focus on making more sales, don't put all your eggs in one basket, try promoting more products, try more things, make more sales. Refunds are part of this game. Just keep moving forward and you'll do great.

    Hey Desmond,

Is this for your own product or an affiliate product you are selling? How are you marketing it? PPC or?

If its for your own product, you might want to tweak the salescopy and try different price payment approaches.

If it's an affiliate product you are marketing, you might want to see if the sales-copy is a good one, if not bypass it altogether and take visitors direct to the order page after preselling them. If not, you can try building a list within the niche and re-market the product by offering bonuses or more bonuses.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards

Fortunately I have never had a refund request. Oops tell a lie! I did have one, but it was for a service not a product, and if the ***** that asked for it hadn't I would have cancelled her job and given her money back! She was a royal pain in the ass.

Like Lazy Bryan said though, try and figure out some ways to make the sales solid. Ask for reasons and use that information to improve the future outlook for the same product. I am not sure what the product is, but another option would be to withdraw any refund entitlement. I have some products that I do not offer a refund on. They still sell!

Being quite frank with you... If it is your first two sales, and both got refunded, chances are you do not have a very good product (i.e., you didn't help them), or it is priced too high (i.e., not enough quality info to justify the price).

Take a look at either one of those, and then you should be able to reduce the refund rate.

Desmond, if the customers are genuine, it means they didn't find what they were promised or what they expected out of the product. It could be because the message in your marketing pitch was not adequately clear to them. It definitely does not mean that the product lacks quality. You may want to get a couple of reviews about your product from experienced members in this forum.

Was this an affiliate product? If so, you should probably promote something that people like .... something that gives value to the customer. Two out of Two isn't good. Can you email them and ask what it is about the product that they didn't like?

One trick is to contact the former customer with a free gift (no opt in, no strings), and say you are very sorry they are dissatisfied with the product, and if they have time would they please reply with a few lines to say why they were not happy, as you want to continue to improve your products. Make it clear they do not have to tell you, but they will be more likely to if you are polite and give them a useful freebie.

You can find simple survey scripts or just use Reply within email.

But also do ask people on here to critique your product. If you don't want to, ask on a related forum (if a niche product) for guinea pigs to test your new book/product on.

They don't need to be internet marketers, they just need to be consumers themselves, and they will tell you what they don't like about it.
