Hello,
This topic is for the newbies like myself who aren't make money online yet...do you ever get pissed?
I know I am sometimes....I mean I read some topics where people say...ok I make 20$ per day I'm a newbie...but there are a lot of people who say: I am making 100 per day, I'm making 200 per day or my favourite I'm making 500 per day and hope to reach 1000 per day next month..When I see something like this sometimes I can't stop swearing lol...I know that for myself with 1000 per month I could live like a king and when I see that others are making that and I'm not I'm just maaaad!

Anyway...that doesn't discourage me...I know I will get there, but maaaaan...somtimes you can't stop swearing..lol

Some may be exaggerating but it seems that the more work you put in the more money you will get but then again some may never get the prize for the work they put in.

      Agreed.

I have been doing this 13 years now. There is a lot of time and patience required to get things going. One of the biggest things more newbies fail to do is keep plugging away.

Things on the internet can take months to show results. Long tail SERPS, sales, traffic and sales patterns, etc.. Most give up too soon. Not everyone is built to be their own master.

I understand where your coming from and I get like that sometimes but I think the important thing is to keep working no matter what.

Only in the last few months have I been seeing the fruits of my labour and they aren't very big fruit yet either!!!

I have been at this for over a year but even though I am not making a ton of money yet at least I know I CAN make money online and that is the point that you have to get to.

I think it is sometimes easy to forget that you have to start somewhere. Everybody has to make the first dollar. Just be sure you keep it up and build from there.

I often get frustrated at how long its taking to build the infrastructure of my online business, but I think the key is to just keep going. You may have to put less time into it from time to time as other commitments get in the way, but if you keep going sooner or later you will get there.

I liken it to a long walk or a marathon, each step isnt much and it can be frustrating when a single step takes a whole day or more. Ultimately though the only way you will get to that finish line is if you keep putting one foot in front of the other.

The biggest frustration I have personally had is all the negative responses from friends and family when I talk about my new online business venture. "thats never gonna work" "what a waste of time" "grow up" "blah blah blah". I guess if I was resigned to slaving away for someone else for the rest of my life I would probably be jelous/negative too.

        Keep on keeping on

I don't consider myself a "newbie" as far as time in the trenches and the amount of knowledge I've shored up. However, I'm still at "newbie" level as far as income goes.

And I have no one to blame but myself. For a long time I either was not consistent or was just flat out lazy.

I'm now ok with the idea of putting in a lot of effort, taking massive action because some day I can do a lot less, effort wise, and still be making good money.

I think that's where a lot of people - newbies or not - "screw up". They don't want to put in the front end work. For most, internet marketing involves a lot of "heavy lifting" and effort up front. But the payoff can be so much better in the long run. And the heavy effort stage only has to be for a short while. Once you get your systems in place and do them right and build up enough of them, you can relax a bit and just keep an eye on them and/or build up new ones as you see fit. (Or hopefully your then in the position that you can be putting in all that effort to really expand - but you're paying/outsourcing for OTHER people to do it FOR you.)

The mantra and attitude I'm taking now is to "keep on keepin' on". The tougher part is now but it won't be forever. I love the idea of putting a lot of effort now that will pay off long after the fact. And that I won't have to keep up at this higher level of effort forever. (Plus of course there is the fact that the more you do something the better you get at it so the easier and faster it goes too. That's another compelling reason to keep on keepin' on - it WILL get easier.)

        That's my two cents. :-)

Yes it gets big time frustrating most of the times. Though I've made a few dollars online it's still peanuts to the cost incurred to making this much.

But yes it has also taught me lessons at the same time - Most strategies work so pick one and work work work & work on it. As a newbie it's so easy to get carried away by all the GREAT advices available online. Some times it may be worth not listening.

When was the last time you lay down on the bed with your hands folded at the back of our neck, starting at the roof and just thinking? I miss those times.

Well, the great thing is it sounds like you're using all that energy that is behind the swearing, etc. to move you in a POSITIVE direction rather than let it really get you down.

    Don't get mad, get even.

What are you doing to make that $20 a day? So do that five more times and you will be making $100 a day. Really it is as simple as that. Remember that term, rinse and repeat. You must have heard that. So do it, repeat the process you went through to make $20 a day and multiply it by five.

Great thoughts Tim! True. It's how you enhance your efforts as you go along that will yield you more results in the near future. All starts with hard work but the more you enjoy what you're doing, you won't even consider it as work and will just have to continue doing what you're passionate about, helping people and earning bucks that you never expected.

It will come MagicAce, you will earn more.

My #1 tip - NEVER compare yourself to others. All comparison results in superiority, mediocrity or inferiority. In the online realm everybody enters the game with a different skill set or no skill set at all. Results will vary.

When I was new to IM I became annoyed and slightly jealous when I worked for months and was receiving maybe 1 opt-in a week while other guys had multiple sign-up's on a daily basis. This mindset is poisonous to your chances of being successful. When I stopped comparing and focused on creating I naturally began to attract prospects and covert 'em too.

Focus on learning from the veterans but forget their results. This will save you much anxiety.

  • Dear MagicAce,

I can't tell anything new to you, I think you know that the start is not easy, to give it up: that's so easy! I believe that if you put energy, work, your time, etc..in your business day by day, results must come ! And also, apart from daily work you have to have a very strong mind-set that YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! And the most important is: use every possible free time to grow your business, every little step helps. I am working on mine business even if my baby doesn't sleep at night and I am terribly exhausted during the day, but I still go on and instead of sleeping or reading, watching tv, I work on my business. I think this is what gives me results.
That's all I can say to you, all the bests and good luck!

I'm in IM for about 10+ years now, at the begining it was very hard didn't make much few buks here and there, but back in than days one didn't have much materials and info to learn from, but also not much competitors.

My advise to you is to use only good info from trusted members. Also you need to go that road for yourself and you must be persistant in what you are doing, I have tried 1000 times and failed 998 time, but these 998 time gave me such a education, and rest 2 give me great amount of money to, so now I have knowledge and some cash :-)

So things will come your way, just need work, testing, reading, work, testing, investing, reading, work, work, etc....

One thing that I’d like to add is, the importance of research and planning … if you’re having a well thought-out plan with realistic goals, you are less likely to be pissed, because you’ll not be comparing yourself to self-acclaimed millionaires … most of the times, the person claiming to be earning that much is actually trying to sell some “SECRET”. I always say, if you are earning $ 1000 every day, you’d not be trying to sell a $25 dollars product, especially when it will bring in competition and eat out your own profits.

OK .. How about those that have been at this like myself (been at it going on 5 years now) and have not made a dime?

Does that mean that I can get more pissed than others?

At least you have made something on your ventures online. I am stuck and going nowhere.

I am frustrated - but will not give up!!! If I would have given up, I would have done that a long time ago.

Hi, i would hate to offer advice to someone doing this for 5 years but i made $50 my very first day online..... I offered an article writing service at $3 an article and sold 15 people paid before the work was done it felt great plus i leraned about articles and article marketing etc... so yes it a simple service I am offering but surely in your 5 years you have learned something that you can do for others or a service you can sell.

What like about IM and online money making is you are really only limited by your imagination. Its like the worlds biggest mall with the cheapest ever store rental.

It's the same story for every newbie. You can't expect to to join a program today and start earning $$$ the next minute. Everything requires time, hardwork and patience. When I first came online, I didn't earn a dime until after 2yrs... I has not been easy but I can now boast of a full-time income online.

    True dat.

A lot of newbies bite off more than they can chew. They are hungry and want to do everything. What they NEED to do is actually pick one item, product, offer and market the **** out of it. Then track and trace, do some trial and error, and learn they how's and why's. Whether successful or not, down the road add in ONE more product/service and do the same thing.

Over time, they will start seeing traffic and purchase or conversion trends, and start learning better on how to sell and convert. A lot of making money is really just trial, error, and tracking. Then once you find something that works, do it over and over until it doesn't.
