Hope this is the right place for this question.

I have a Kodak zi8 - fantastic little camera. I've been using Camtasia 7.0 to do mild editing and adding call outs. The problem is the quality once rendered is nothing like the original - far less than ideal.

I've tried the Camtasia forums as well as the various kodak forums for a clue as to what I am doing wrong (other than spending way too much time trying to do it myself).

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks.

What format are you exporting into? You could try editing in Sony Vegas, it's supposed to be great for zi8 if you have a pc.

      I'm exporting into mp4.

If I must, I'll get Sony Vegas, but it I can stay with Camtasia for these simple edits, I'd prefer this.

      Thanks.

Did your camera come with it's own software preinstalled? If you plug in the USB is there any editing software available? You might need to install that once, even if you aren't going to use it, just to install the drivers. There was a big problem of this happening to Flap cam users that wanted to edit in Vegas. Once they installed the software, the drivers were there and everything worked fine.
