just found a great keyword phrase but...

I just found a phrase that gets 368,000 global hits and 165,000 local (usa) hits with what it says in google keyword search as no competition... but what I'd be promoting is COMPLETELY off topic do you think I'd still get some conversions just from the volume?

Why not try promoting a related offer? There are so many affiliate offers these days for various niches.

because there is no such offer in existence, its the most bizzare phrase... and I wouldn't even know what kind of squeeze page I could put up for an opt-in either.

I think, you need to set up a simple blog with a few pages with this keyword.

Get your adsense in your posts. See for a while what ads appear and if there are any products available. (while earning some money from adsense), then make the decision to keep adsense or sell the product.

  • I'm doing the same with a couple of golden key phrases.

Got one that gets 19,000 but it's very related.

Another one that gets 117,000 which I'm trying to make it related.

Probably not. If you are targeting a keyword... and the keyword is "CATS", and then your website is about bikes...people are not going to think that you are an IM genius... they will press back and find the page with the info that they are looking for.

And that will tell Google that you site has no relevance to anyone and it will drop like a stone in the rankings.
