Editing Wordpress posts ... does it help?

Here's something I'm curious about that I have not read about anywhere, so I'm wondering if anybody has any direct experience with it.

Say you use autoblogger plugins to post a bunch of stuff to a Wordpress blog. You need to go through periodically and prune out the garbage.

But then what if you go back a week or so later and edit the posts (with the help of something like SEOPressor) to improve the SEO quality of the posts; will the search engines notice the changes and reflect the improvements in the SERPS?

I would say that it should help as long as you, of course, have a sitemap and a good ping list so that search engines can crawl the changes quickly.

For sure. Each time you edit your post and hit the publish on save change button it pings all the services you have selected. This means that search engines will get the message that your post has been changed.

The other important element would be sitemap. If you have sitemap, then Google will get a direct message in the same time.

I'm pretty sure that if you edit and save your posts, Google will notice it.. but it will take time before they visit your site.

You can use pingdevice.com and enter those post urls to notify other ping list that your posts are updated and that should get Goggle bots crawling your sites faster.
