pls help me about ranking on Google

hi all
I'm newbie in IM. about 2 week agos I've made a site. I posted unique content regularly and create some backlink by writing articles to ezine.

today I searched on my target keyword and found a site used the same keyword on Google page 2. The site has nothing only 2 post and was created after mine. I feel a bit disappointed and don't get why his site can rank so fast like that.

anyone can give me some advices how to rank quickly and how i can know why my competitive site can rank quick. Thanks.

    It's going to depend a little on what niche and how much competition there is, but generally speaking, you need to build backlinks from authority websites (well-known sites in your niche) rather than just random backlinks.

    Keep putting the good content out there on places like Ezine Articles.

    Also, make sure you've submitted your site to all of the search engines. For example, in Google, just type 'Submit URL to Google' into the search bar and click Search. The first result should be the page where you can tell Google your site exists.

    You can also use Yahoo Answers and a number of other ways to rank highly quite quickly. The best thing to do is search on here for info on writing good, keyword rich articles, as well as info on the other methods I mentioned (like Yahoo Answers).

    It could be lack of on and off page SEO optimization and you need to build massive amount of backlinks for keywords that you want to rank for. RSS feed is excellent tool use while building links.
