Clickbank Question from Noob

I've been using 1 Shopping Cart to sell my products (video tutorials and ebooks), but I wanted to check out the possibility of becoming a merchant on Clickbank, which I've never done before. I understand it in theory, but here is my main question:

Will I have to replace my 1 Shopping Cart links with the Clickbank ones? And if so, does that turn my 1SC account into a glorified mailing list?

    It's up to you how you do it, Ken. As long as you produce, for Clickbank, a sales-page and payment details that fulfil their parameters as stated in their terms of service and "advice pages".

    However, it's possible that very few serious, pro-affiliates on Clickbank will be willing to promote a product which is also for sale elsewhere.

    Please don't be offended, but I certainly wouldn't look at it, myself, on that basis: there's just too much risk of not getting paid a commission after my skills, energy, work, time and effort have generated the customer, if s/he can buy it somewhere else, a bit later, where my affiliate cookie won't help me to get paid.

    It's just a problem I don't need, when I have 12,000 other Clickbank products to choose from.

    As Alexa said having 2 payment gateways on the same page is probably the worst of both worlds - you will lose affiliates on both sides as there is a leak either way.

    It might be best to give it a test, get a new domain, replicate the site and split test some traffic. Make sure it still converts well enough on clickbank for starters, and then spend a few days and contact some potential affiliates - see if you can get them to mail out or send you some traffic and see how this business model compares to 1SC - imo, if it is better for you then close the other site down and concentrate on this, as even 2 seperate sites, as Alexa points out would be a worry to big Clickbank affilaites.
