question about website flipping...

Hi eveyone!

Hi! have a question related to site flipping...

I own few websites that were registred with an host but I didn't have enough money to pay my hosting so my sites don't show up anymore on the web...

I still don't have money and I need to sell them!

How can I show them to potential buyers if my hosting has been suspended?

All suggestions are welcomed!

Thanks a lot for your help!

Unfortunately you need a host to display your pages on the web. Can you still access your host to at least get a backup of the files?

If the host suspended you, you wouldn't be able to access your account or cpanel anymore. You would have to re-up with them to copy or transfer your site.

    Ok Thanks!

I'll see what I can do... Could I sell just the domain name then?

Yes you can sell your domain name as long as it's hosted with a different registrar. Did you register your domain name on a separate website to your hosting?

I am not sure what host you have but many of them offer monthly hosting packages for under 10 a month. Which should give you more then enough time to get the site back up and ready to sell. If I may ask what are the domain names. I may be interested depending upon what the names of them would be. For I only use keyword rich domains and have been looking to expand my network further then I already have.

Hi, I'm just adding my $0.02 here; I'm not sure about the name but isn't there a free hosting service that is fairly popular? A lot of programmers use it to quickly test their scripts and I think it can be used as a temporary solution till you sell the domains. I'm really sorry that I can't remember the name but it's a good service which doesn't put any ads on your site. If anyone can remember the name please put it here.

I don't know why people don't pay the $14.95/mo to be able to host UNLIMITED websites. Especially if you're actively flipping.

Do people simply not know one can do this?

I suggest that you should shift your websites to some reseller hosting. In that way you can hold your all websites under one account and it is relevently arrond just $ 6 per month. The best part is you can resell it (you should study it seperately). You have to work hared but I can't find any other option. You can check any reseller hosting plan. Most of the site flippers use reseller hosting account.

For those interested, I will list my websites domains names after lunch... Is this against the rules in this forum?

You cannot list them for sale in the main discussion forum. You would have to pay the $20 to list them in Complete Sites for Sale. You can try namepros.com for selling them ... it is free.

The key thing here is to mmake sure that your DNS Registrar is separate from your web host at all times. That way issues like this can be dealt with very quickly.

Thanks you all for your suggestions

Here's a precision to facilitate your understanding of my situation...

Several months ago, I opened a reseller account and I registered all my sites there (about 12 sites). To my knowledge, I never registred my domains on the hosting website.
I think I bought them all from godaddy, Netfirm and 1&1 hosting.

Unfortunatly, due to a family emergency, I was never able to pay my monthly fees wich are accumulating since several months and now, the amount is too big to pay!

That's why I'm looking for a way to get the most for the least to get me out of this bad situation...

Audray, it's good that you didn't register your domains on the same site as your host (if you had done, your host may not give you access to them because of your non-payments). This means you could still sell your domains, though you won't get access to the actual websites you built up on them.

As for posting your domains here, I don't know about that. If you're trying to sell them, there are sections to post websites for sale but you'll have to read the rules to make sure you can also list domains (I've never done it before).

    Good luck,
    Ruth

do you have backup for your sites?

I have a lil space spare, you use it for lets say... one month, to sell the websites.

For those who are interested, just pm me to get my list of domain names.

I cannot pay 20$ to sell them on the buy and sell forum right now...

    Hey audray.

    Just a thought -

Do a search in various search engines to see if they still have your website listed in their results with a 'cache' link next to the title. If the cache link is there, you may be able to see a copy of your page(s).

The other possibility is to check an archive website which more than likely will have a copy of your entire website.

    Hope this helps.

      oh yeah... that´s good...

      try archive.org

and you can also contact them and ask them to give you one day in to take out your stuff... depending on the hosting, they will...
