New Internet Marketer. My first ebook/website, what do you think?

Well, as I may not have as many posts as everyone here, I have been following you folks in the Warrior Forum for a while now. Lots and lots of reading, but very valuable information, which is why I would recommended any internet marketer to you guys. You could say I'm ready to start talking with you guys. I realized how much work it is to make your first profit. Please let me know what you guys think and what I can do to make it look any better. Thanks

    Hey Jay,

Don't let your low post count deter you from interacting here at the WF... don't hesitate to ask questions or feel that you need a certain post count to get involved...

Back to the point at hand, as for your site, here's my critique:

#1, the header graphic looked like a template to me... and it takes up waaay too much space IMHO... The fact that your title is simple text, not a graphic/logo/ does not help with your "BRANDING" You need a catchy little logo in the top left, to make visitors remember your site's brand/logo by visual, not just textual means.

#2 Your header text needs some work... instead of saying I in a header, you should focus on your readers/potential customers, by emphisizing YOU, not I... instead of this :

I Make it Possible For ANYONE to Make a Killing in Real Estate.

How about this, or something similar:

YOU Too can make a Killing in Real Estate using these Secret Techniques.

Or what you have in the middle copy:

If you are interested in making a lot of MONEY in real estate, this will be the most interesting sales pitch you will ever read.

Do you get my point by using YOU instead of I? I seems conceded... like "I know something you don't ... nananananaaaana..."

But... revealing a secret that YOU can BENEFIT FROM... well, that sounds more enticing doesn't it???

#3 The right column needs differentiation between it's content... I couldn't tell where the customer testimonials started compared to the "What will you learn through my ebook and newsletters?" section

I think the What will you learn through my ebook and newsletters? should have bullet points, and moved from the right column to the main content in the middle.

    Just my 2cents...

    Hi Jay,

It's a very clean website. However a few adjustments need to be made (like on the right hand column, bring the text to the top of the table)

But all in all, an easy on the eye website. Good job.

I would like to see how well you do with your site considering the current economy and peoples perceptions of making money in real estate these days!

By all means, be active in the forum.

    As for your site...

Nice site. Looks great. Good niche at a good time.

At first glance I would make one suggestion.
    Justify the low price.

Give a reason, or reasons, why it normally sells (or, just say "This book normally sells for $140 but,...), and then something to the effect of, "As my "finally getting it on the internet" sale, for a short time, I'm offering it for"
Or, "because of the tough economic times". Then have 2 more strike-through prices.

As said above, the header is too large. Reduce it so you have more copy above the fold. Drop an opt-in box to the top right-hand column.

Too many font colors - choose one and keep it consistent.

Your copy in one spot says 'sales pitch' ... change that to something else, ie: letter.

Left align (not center) the bullet point list and change the heading to include the 'how to' so each bullet point becomes active, ie:

'... I cut to the chase and show YOU how to:

    - Find ...
    - Eliminate ...
    - Turn
    - Research

Also, right hand column is 'features' - change to benefits.

Design-wise, I think both sidebars could do with a stronger colour, text all black and bigger point size.

Bold your sub-heads. More white space.

Take the bolded first sentences of the first few paragraphs and make them sub-headings.

As it stands, it looks like a heavy read ... more bullet points, more white space.

    Good luck with it.

    Hey Jay:

I think a nice 3-D ebook cover (wink, wink) would increase your sales dramatically! I even know a place where you can get one really cheap, like under $10.

    <cough>See my sig!<cough>

Anyhow, good job and welcome to IM.

Jay, good niche. As a friend told me on one of my first sites.. "font is too small"
I don't feel comfortable reading it because of that together with the fact that the space is there to have it bigger but it's squashed to the middle of the page.
but rock on you're almost there!

  • Hey mate!

Yeah, I agree with Jeff. Drop the "EZ Jay" name. It may work with the chicks, but I doubt if it will work for potential customers. EZ Jay sounds like a con artist's monicker after all... no offense meant, dude.

    Also, hire a proofreader immediately!

Better yet, get a copywriter and have him rewrite the entire copy, because I doubt if a proofreader will be able to cure the page and transform it into a readable sales letter. I see 5 grammatical and typographical errors in the first two paragraphs alone.

Again, this isn't meant to offend you, Jay, but when you're trying to convince people to buy your product based on your words, you have to make sure that you properly use those words as one incorrectly spelled word can mean the difference between a successful sale and a lost prospect.

And yes, do invest on customized graphics. Not only will an eCover provide a semblance of tangibility for your product, it will also show your prospects that you are willing to spend for them and this will make it easier for them to decide on spending some of their earnings on you.

Your enthusiasm, however, is very admirable. Keep it up Jay, because I have a feeling you'll succeed faster than other marketers currently in your level right now.

Thanks for an honest review. Where could I find someone who will proofread my site and fix it up?
