How much rewriting do I need to do?

Ok, so I have a bunch of articles at ezinearticles.
I want to submit the same ones to another article directory.

How much do I need to rewrite them to sumbit to another article directory and to avoid googles duplicate content slap?
Can I just spin them with an an article spinner or is it neccesarry to change entire sentences?

How do you usally go about this?

    You'll probably get a lot of mixed replies on this one.

    I only submit to Ezine Articles, GoArticles and my own blog and I don't change anything except I might adjust the title slightly.

    The duplicate issue only affects more than one of the same article on the same site. So, if I have the same article in 2 categories on my own site, then Google doesn't count the 2nd article.

    Usually I wait about a week between submitting to EA and then submitting to GoArticles, just to give time for the article to be approved and 'Googled'.
