Your Virtual Assistants: is it money+time well spent or does it take you too long to explain to them what to do?

Having a knowledgeable and competent VA definitely equals money + time well spent. Even when you have to spend some time initially on explaining exactly what you need done.

Some may argue that using VAs is a waste, because usually you do not entrust them with difficult tasks, or tasks that are really crucial to your business (trust issue I guess). But if you have someone that can take load of those little things off your back, just imagine how much more time you will be able to spend on expanding your business, on coming up with new ideas, or just relaxing.

If you do not want to get crushed under the load of work, outsource!

I have a core team of 5 that I outsource to. Each has their own function that they focus on and has no idea what they others are doing.

Once all the work is done, I package it all up and launch the campaigns myself. If I did all of my research correctly and chose the right niche, I usually turn any outsource expense into profit within a few weeks. So, for me it is totally worth it.

Virtual assistant can/may help you. It all depends on what kind of person you hired for a VA. You might want to give them the piece by piece task you want them to do. But of course the planning and implementing will still come from you. you can give them a video training/tutorial so it should not be a big problem. Link building for example takes too much time. So getting a VA to do that for you can be a big help.

Give them what you think they deserve, and yes, I heard outsourcing in the Philippines works best.

VA's be the best thing for your business to free up your time from spending it on tasks that others can do, which will allow you to focus more on the the big picture items such as growing your business.

If you train them properly it will be a good thing, provided they stick with you and not go elsewhere.

What I've found is that if you treat them really well and have very open communication with them, then it can be a good relationship. Also it has been a big help to interview them well before considering the training. That way you know who you're dealing with and what their goals are so that expectations can be properly aligned.
