When Did You Get Into Internet Marketing And Why?

Hi guys,

I would like to pose this question to all of you here on the warrior forum, because as a newbee I would just like to get to know a little about everyone who is so kind as to give us new guys help when we need it.

What's more I'm sure some of your personal sucess stories will help motivate a lot of people like me who are just starting out!

The first question is when did you get into internet marketing and why?

The second question is what is your favourite part of internet marketing?

Thanks,
Ste.

Because companies were paying obscene amounts of money to create these new fangled things called websites.

Been surfing the Internet since the start when I was just a young boy

I Made Money Online for the first time somewhere around the early 2000's i guess, doing static html web design. I was into making money with the Sitepoint (Now 99 designs) contests probably around the mid 2000's too.

Id say it was around 2006 when i first got into the "Make Money Online" side of Internet Marketing. You know, squeeze pages, landing pages, list building, product creation and all that sort of thing. I didn't really start taking action until mid - late 2009, partly because I was lazy a procrastinator and partly because I didn't need the money.

It was only shortly after I took action that I made money and luckily I caught the bug. Since then i've been developing several income streams and quit my day job.

The reason I got into it is because I like money and have aspirations to make a lot of it. I always felt that a "day job income" is highly unlikely to be enough to live the life that I aspire to live.

For me, the freedom! Its that simple. I have always been in Sales and Marketing all my life. So, it wasn't a big decision. The only thing I know how to do besides play Golf. (LOL)

          When - 2008

Why - to build my own empire and avoid having to do a full-time J-O-B, been writing articles and posts for others and I'm tired of doing it on their schedule

What - building a couple of websites for affiliate marketing, brand new at starting PLR,

          Thanks for asking!

    2008, because I was downsized.

I had the option to work with another company in my industry but desired freedom above all else.

IM is a lucrative business if you put in the time and energy to earn the freedom which IM affords you.

    All the best!

What a nice humble way to ask a question. I wish more people asked questions as well as you have sir.

I got into internet marketing around about 7 years ago. I was in a bit of a difficult situation. At first the promise of lots of money for doing very little sucked me in. After a fairly short while I realised that wasn't the case and having an internet marketing business wasn't much different in terms of effort as having your own "ordinary" business.

My favoutite part is that I'm no longer anywhere near that difficult situation. I have a lot of freedom, even though I work hard and I enjoy my life. I've also met a lot of extremely nice people doing this. I'm finally in control of my life and where it's going....I hope.

I got into marketing because I was paying a firm to seo my website and they were doing a poor job of it. Plenty of promises and no results! So that's why I decided to have a go at it myself.

Best thing I ever did to date. Not only internet marketing is interesting but it has open my eyes to a world of opportunities.

I have been doing it for 5 months now. I am following a plan and have made a few sales. Although it is hard work, I really enjoy it!

    Hey guys,

Thanks for all of your input, almost all of you have done it for the freedom. Have you allreached your goals, and are now in a place to live comfortably from solely what you earn in IM?

    Thank's,

4 years ago, when I was 19 and my dad gave me a check for $500. I was thinking about investing it, but then saw an ad for the Rich Jerk, which I torrented... err bought..

I started making 300-400/ month without really knowing what I was doing (IM was so much easier back then..).I realized what was possible, but never thought about turning it into a business. Now that I'm 6 months away from graduating college, I'm really starting to value personal and financial freedom so I'm working my butt on now until then.

I Started in 2006 teaching myself HTML so I could build websites, and from there I discovered many other ways of making money with internet marketing.

I have always loved working on computers and enjoy learning from them, so learning to expand my business would be my favourite part about internet marketing, plus the money

I started Internet marketing in 2005 at the age of 17. At the time I was in high school and living with my parents trying to make some extra money for cloths and "teenage wants".

I read 2 books (Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover and Multiple Streams of Income) and found this forum and never looked back.

Internet marketing is a huge learning curve. Especially if you haven't had any previous training in selling or marketing. But once you learn how to effectively market online, words like "recession" only apply to people in cubicles.

Keep it up "newbs"! It's hard, frustrating and you will probably lose money along they way. But there is light at the end of the tunnel if you stay persistent. Continue doing what works and scale up your business model.

Success is near, just don't give up!

          When?

          May of 2003

          Why?

I had just graduated college and was looking for a job when I somehow came across a website about working at home. It got me interested so I started looking further into internet marketing. I realized how much better it would be to have my own business and be my own boss. Everything started from there and I never looked back.

          Favorite Part?

The freedom that comes with it.

When we first went online in 1996, we saw opportunity and Internet Marketing really evolved in order for your site to be found you had to understand SEO and IM. It was a necessity in a competitive market.

Well as technology advances, so do people and markets. I found this was a unique opportunity to get into because I run my own Free Webhosting Company & Paid Webhosting company. Both of which I had little no marketing experience quite some years ago. Getting into Marketing really helped me out with my businesses and projects I have had or are planning.

I'm new too. I have an invisible chronic illness that threatens my 9-5; and the job stress exacerbates symptoms. I hope I can find success with IM so I can win back my life frankly. Im 36. I thank everyone here for your contributions; I'm learning so much. I can't properly articulate my newfound hope. Just have to keep plugging.
