Well yeah, spamming facebook won't work.

I use facebook for PPC though. It's very targeted and effective when you need it to be.

My understanding from my research you can sell your products from facebook, the key is in 1st providing quality information to the members, but if you come out as fast talking salesmen looking to reach into their wallets first before providing and real value to them, you are dead in the water.

Suggestion:

Do more research right on facebook, seek out a specific niche product and see if anyone is selling it and how they are selling it ...in other words do a test 1st ...do not go by what others are saying instead do your own test to find out if it will work for you and if necessary hire someone that has some experience to see if what you are doing is the issue or is it the product or is it that facebook does not work to market affiliate products.

When you mention you use facebook for PPC, please clarify more ?

You said you facebook for PPC (what do u mean ) , could be interpreted that you are using Google adwords to drive traffic to your fan page on facebook ?

Are you referring that you use facebook ppc own proprietary ppc ad network for it's own members of facebook..please clarify ?

Are you selling a service or product in the affiliate marketing niche or for some traditional offline business product or service and use facebook ppc as a tool to drive traffic right to your own facebook fan / group page ?

I mean that I use facebook's internal ad system for pay per click campaigns. I link to my affiliate landing page. If I were using a campaign to get people to my fan page, I would probably purchase a cost per impression package

you can even set up an online store in your facebook account. Uploading pics of your different items to be sold and putting a price is an instant online store.

It can still be done but you are at the mercy of Facebook's ever changing policies which mean what ever method you are using, you will probably be broguht to a stand still at some point.

I think the PPC Ad's are useful for certain situations though!

Marketing on Facebook is very simple. You can either use the PPC method mentioned above or you can spend the time or outsource growing a large Facebook following. I have over 20,000 targeted friends/fans for my Industry. I don't spam them with a offer, I provide interesting content and have established my self as a leader. Then maybe 1 out of 10 posts are my business opportunity. This generates leads/sales as well as the curious people who read my blog or watch my Youtube videos, I have links and banner ads on both of those.

Adding friends and Spamming won't work. But You can make a profit with PPC and having a FB fanpage.

I do well with Facebook, in fact I get a lot of high paying clients, speaking engagements and sales. I had never used PPC so I can't speak to that because my focus is organic.

What has worked well is adding friends and building relationships and having a custom Fan Page, it all goes hand and hand because I don't sell
in my personal profile but I promote myself on my Fan page.

Here is the process:
1. I build trust and relationships with my personal pg
2. Provide links in my proflie to my website, fan pg etc.
3. They become interested in what I do and click on the links
4. I have an AR on fan pg and website
5. When they "like" my pg they can sign up for a Free ebook on how to use social media in 30 mins a day
6. They can check me out and then I will get a message asking to meet about how I can help them

I'm like you. All I do is add friend the old fashion way MANUALLY. I build relationships with people by finding something we have in common. I always give informative info no matter what topic or niche. Its all about them and not you. Using the Fanpage is where I do all my advertising when it comes to Facebook. Spamming any website is not a good idea, especially FB, they come with new rules every week. So I'm not shocked FB limited your account for using that tool, why not try to ad friends manually, it's better that way and you wont get into trouble.

You had better plan on being part of any community by giving good comments and answers before ever posting a link. I love how you can report a spammer on facebook very easily. It really keeps the intgrity of their platform. If you are going to use Facebook for marketing, then know what works. Spamming never will work, but especially on FB.

So you are saying that if your business is new to FB you should join other pages and comment there? Or comment on your own page? I just opened my PLR store this week & made a FB page but I don't want to invite most of my personal friends because they have no use for PLR (it seems like it would be spam). At this point I just don't see how I can develop a following any time soon.

Your thread title is asking about making money using facebook. And your thread content is asking about your friend adding spam bot and the fact that it doesnt work.

A tip i can offer you for adding friends is adding them naturally. Once you get a few hundred just use the suggested friends feature and add ALL of them. The more you add the more friends in common you have with them the more people will add you instead of declining or reporting you as spam. The list gets bigger and bigger for me every day. If only i could automate adding the suggested friends my life would be heaven.

All my friends in facebook all just around 13 to 23 years old..i dont think they able to buy anything online/.

I've built up over 3000 friends on Facebook by providing good quality content which is exactly what you should be doing if Social Media is to feature in your future plans.

Facebook is like Marmite - you either love it or hate it BUT... you can't avoid it, it's here, and it's getting BIGGER by the day - it's here to stay.

Make Facebook your friend.. Add friends manually, no more than 15/20 a day - send a nice personal message with each request. After all, WHY should they be friends with YOU...What's in it for THEM?

Social Media Marketing is not about YOU, it's all about THEM...
You will start to succeed when what you GIVE far outweighs what you EXPECT..

I do use Facebook ads to add people to my Fan page, this works well and if your Fan Page welcome tab that you are sending them to is defaulting to your opt in form, you are going to KICK IT!... as long as you are offering something of VALUE Free as an incentive to do so.

Keep Spamming and facebook will delete YOU... why risk it?

Don't spam man, not cool.

Like everyone said, with FB, there is no question that its ppc ad system is the best way to make money. I think you might have to change your mindset a bit, and don't just think about making quick buck doing absolutely the minimum. Do stuff manually first, and build relationship. If you done your market research right, then doing the relationship part will be easier.

I think making money with facebook it is possible. But i would suggest the option for PPC Ads, don't use any tools that are against their TOS
