OTO Headlines, Do They Still Work?

What One Time Offer headlines are effective in todays market ?

Everyone knows about the OTO straight after sign up, what headline works to really stop them to read your copy ?

STOP: OTO ..... = Does the big stop sign still work ?

Any suggestions on what is working for you would be great.

If your are marketing to this crowd on the Warrior Forum and other marketers then I'd say it's lost it's effectiveness somewhat... but still worth doing.

If you are using this method on markets outside of this crowd then I don't have to tell you how successful it can be.

I like to be upfront with it... basically a sentence at the top of the page saying... "If you just want to ...... then scroll to the very bottom of this page... however I urge you to read this story first..."

Then lead with a headline as per a normal sales letter.

It seems to work well for me.

Sales copy hasn't changed much for 50 years... The same principles apply and work.

      Good point.

However, I do think the OTO has lost it's effectiveness somewhat in this market. Unless you have an exceptional offer and salescopy to suck me in, I'm scrolling right to the bottom of the page before I've even landed on it...

Perhaps you have a different experience with OTO's but I've found in markets where it's not utilised as frequently it works a hell of a lot better.

If you are marketing to Newbies like I am,
then everything they see is somewhat new to them
compared to us who have seen it a hundred times.
    Correction, more like a thousand.

I think it kind of depends on your market. The stop sign is de rigeur in IM, but it might not be in other places.

My personal opinion witht the STOP sign or words to that effect are that i stop reading when I see them.

I think something that encouraged people to continue reading might be wroth testing out to see how it converts.

McDonald's does not teach its counter people to yell STOP at each customer before saying "Would you like fries with that?" and they are pretty good at the upsells.

I agree with the STOP sign on OTO pages, most of the time the offers that go with them are crappy below par PLR.

I'm trying to improve my sales funnel and see what initial headline people use to force your visitor to read on.

OTO, still works and point behind the success is you must carefully consider about visitor's mind when he sees the OTO. Example, If the visitor is fidgety about main offer, he doesn't care OTO. Apart form that, OTO works brilliantly with web sites a same visitor reaches frequently (repeater rule).
