Reasons why people fail to make money online

Short but concise...

There are so many reasons why people are not making money online even though some of them have been online for a while. Some are the most common reasons.

1. Keep reading ebooks and keep discovering something without focusing on specific thing.
2. Registering a lot of domains and later on abandoned them because he have no time and/or discovered another domain.
3. Wanted an overnight success.
4. No perseverance and lack of focus.....

i must say the first step is what i do now as a beginner... BUT without those ebooks i wouldn't be were i am now... they gave me alot of inspirations and different views of subjects that are really helpful. What you will be probally referring is to ebooks which make u 10000 a day or so, only thing i can say just don't waste your time with those, do some research about high quality ebooks etc...

i might be doing it different then other people but at least im moving forward fast although i didn't make any money and that is where it is all about so basically what i want to say is THEORY != EXERCICING, but imo you need to learn theory before practicing.

wow i have typed alot lol

beginners should not dig deep down to find more and more ebooks... A simple proven way available here in WF could help a lot. Avoid distractions.

There's also the fact that people don't want to do any work, want things yesterday and refuse to accept that it takes time and effort to succeed. They want a step by step guide so they don't have to think for themselves. This kills all forms of creativity for them as they rely on others ideas or methods to make their money.

They refuse to test anything new, unless they see big fake screenshots of earnings and think anything old is crap, when in reality old stuff continually works for anyone who actually does it.

They think they can buy tools and that will automatically make them successful. They read and read and read but never take any action. If they do take action it's with a coupon or free traffic where their own money is not at risk, therefore they could care less and are careless in what they do.

The successful people see through all this. They use methods given, but they put their own spin on them. They adapt, adjust and test things on their own. They're not afraid to ask questions and they're not afraid to fail!

All that considered, one of the biggest factors is this:

They do not make any plans at all.

Try building a skyscraper without a blueprint. That's what newbies do.
Try building a house without a blueprint. That's what newbies do.
Try building a cabinet without a plan. That's what newbies do.

If you have a plan, goals, good work ethic, creativity and are willing to fail, you will succeed.

I have to agree with this gentleman, problem is that everything under ths sun says, quick money now, and newbies just fall into the hype of this, any business, be it online or offline requires you to work hard, building the foundation first, the reward at first will depress you, but like i always say, rome was not built in a day.

It's time wso's and cb products are outlaw, anything about making eg: $3000 in 10 days needs to be stopped, and more products about how to grow your business over the test of time should be encouraged.

Every time a friend asks me what I am doing online to make money, I always tell him/her that I can't tell him unless we both in front of my computer. And I also tell him not to think of money first but think of how he can learn... people are always blinded by money...

I agree with you and all but come on now, don't blame it all on the newbies. It's not their fault (maybe their lack of common sense) that they have the "the IM game is easy" mentality. It's those gurus that keep feeding them those BS in their sale pages.

Anyone ever heard the whole "If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail" self help adage?

I'd like to add that by forcing yourself to create a plan that involves action steps this will force you to focus only on the important thing.

There are going to be a 101 little details that will crop up unexpectedly in any project and trying to plan for every single what-if will never get you off the ground.

Well as 'Frank Kern' said in one of his marketing video that its because people are overwhelmed. They have too many choices and dont know where to start. I faced this problem too. The Key thing here is to "START' and put in your best. Start with what you think you are best in and just concentrate on it.

I think failure came from lack of focus, I was one of them years back, buying lots of stuff but couldn't finished it, I mean there's always something good coming out from no where and you just want to get better stuff, but in the end none is better because... every stuff I brought almost are saying something alike... it's just that the method had slightly different... well as for now I'm all out focusing on article marketing and that's all I do Till it become success... but thanks to WF.... I had found nice people helping me out....

Failing is a great thing. Successful people fail all the time. If you're failing, you're on your way. Look at any pro athlete.

In basketball, Kobe Bryant is arguably one of the greatest players right now. Know why? He misses more shots then anyone else. What I mean is, in practice and games he misses more then some guys even attempt. That means a percentage of those shots ARE going in. That's a primo example of failing to succeed.

In football, does a QB complete every pass? Is every pass a touchdown pass? Do you think he's tossed a million passes in practice? Do you think every one was caught and resulted in a touch down? Hell no. The greatest QBs know and accept that they're going to screw up some passes. But they have the balls to throw it anyway.

Same in baseball. You don't swing for the fences every time you step up to the plate. You can get a single or double too. Look at the pitcher, does he throw a strike everytime? Nope. He'll throw a ball or two, but does he quit and go home because he walked someone? Hell no.

Look at golf. Why did Tiger Woods dominate for so long? He was the first on the practice tee and last one off. He's hit millions of golf balls over his career. Sometimes he'd goof up and hit a drive way into the other fairway, but we don't remember him for those ones. We remember shots like he did at Glen Abbey going from a sand trap, over a pond and within 8 feet of the cup with a 6 iron that went 225 yards dead on. (Now how in the hell do I remember that shot? Why don't I remember the crappy drives or shots he's done? Because it was a great shot and we don't remember the bad ones only the good ones.)

I've trained thousands of affiliates over the years and I've seen and heard every excuse in the book. Some like to blame others for their lack of success others become millionaires. They all have similar characteristics. The guys who can't succeed all have things in common. The guys who do succeed have things in common too.

Bottomline is you will never succeed if you don't fail and fail alot.

    Adie,

I totally agree with you. People need to stick with what they are doing and don't back down. If something seems like a good idea at the time, but you never get around to it. You are basically throwing away money. So once again, excellent points made Adie.

Failing is always on your way to success but if there are more failures than success, then you might be doing something wrong.

Internet marketing is like planning in manufacturing. We call it PDCA cycle

Plan - planning what to do, set targets
Do - execution based on plan
Check - evaluate the effectiveness of your process
Act - solve problems and continuous improvements

I think the solution for immediate or quick cash is to deliver pizza's, or wait tables and earn tips. At least you know you would be paid nightly. Immediate internet income, or quick online cash is as much a misnomer as 'efficent government'.
Not only is lack of focus an issue, so is broken focus. People have such good intentions, they start something, and then life's little interuptions get in the way, break their focus, and they are not able to restore focus.
I heard a great term the other week that I will not take credit for, and I think some people fall under this category. They become professional 'learn it all's'. Buying this, reading that, watching this, studying that. You'll never get it right the first time, nor the second, or the 3rd etc. So, accept the fact you will fail at some part of your endeavour, just try to learn from those failures, and be better, not perfect, the next time around. Improving is a never ending process. If you aren't busy growing, then you are dying.

SO true! I was a victim of the first one mentioned when I started out. I was doing a lot of research so I kept coming across different reports and then I joined too many email lists that offered information but kept marketing to me instead. I lacked focus so my efforts were spread too far apart.

After awhile, I unsubscribed to all those lists, chose a method to use and focused on just becoming profitable in that area. Focus really is an amazing thing!!

I only maintained 3 subscriptions from 3 top marketers here. I am still controlling myself and avoiding the first one.. It's hard to deal even you are not a newbie anymore.. New ideas is tempting but if you let yourself get carried away, the result could be disaster to your IM career..

The biggest reason why people fail online is because they buy too many ebooks on how to make money on the net. Focus on one thing at a time like getting your blog up using Wordpress and then writing Original Articles as posts. Once that is done, then you can monetize it. Taking ACTION is one of the biggest reasons people fail at internet marketing. Blog for internet cash is a good way to make money on the net.

I find there's usually a lot of initial action but it's not sustained and carried thru to completion as the work involved can become a drudge. Then when a new 'even quicker results' product is announced one is distracted and starts all over again with that new product. Kinda like starting a 100m race and mid-flight running across the fields to start the 200m only upon starting that to notice theres a 400m race starting ... all great starts but no finish

People faill to make money online because they fail to do three simple things:

    1. Locate a market that is spending money.
    2. Find out what that market is spending money on.
    3. Effectively sell them what they are already buying.

To me, if you can cut the crap out of this whole game and ONLY focus on the above you will be going in the right direction.
