Advice on Site building?

Hello I am asking for some advice on what I can do about the layout, template ect. of my website? I have already got lots of feedback that the site design is poor and understand that is a huge part of getting sales.

I am using rvsitebuilder through stablehost. I know basic Html but not enough to set up an entire site. What are other affiliate marketers using for site creation?

Site is in the signature, thanks

    Hi dsbusiness,

I use and prefer joomla for the majority of my sites as it's great for just about any type of website. A great thing about joomla is it's very user friendly once you learn the basics and there are heaps and heaps of templates (free ones too) out there already built ready for you to use for your site.

Joomla is a CMS, (Content Management System), so it manages content. Any content you wish to place in it. It comes complete with all the scripts you need to manage members, mass mailing, image handling and of course content management. In a nutshell....it's got all anyone needs to make any type of site. There are many components/plugins and modules (free and commercial) that you can add to joomla to enhance it's features. Such as say a free Shopping Cart component, a free blogging component, free dating components....the list goes on.

    Check it out at http://joomla.org

The site layout is messy. I personally use Wordpress & Xsitepro for my sites. They are easy to use & look nice.

      Hi,

I use Xsite Pro 2 which is quite easy to use but a little expensive. I tend to use Wordpress more now which is free of course apart from the hosting. You could also try Weebly or Blogger which are also both free.

      All the best,

      Stu

You use them for building your entire site?

Weebly is a good site builder. It is easy to set up one with them, heck maybe way easier than setting up a wordpress site especially if you are freshly off from blogger.

I agree with one of the replies I use wordpress & Xsitepro. Xsitepro is just so easy to use, great tutorials and does so much more in terms of SEO, overall construction, keywords adding pop up,overs etc - worth checking out & the outlay

If you want your site building, it requires a lot of time, hard work and dedication, Here's the first step, you must choose your domain name, make sure that it is unique, then register it . The third one is finding a web host and after that add content to your site make sure that it contains interesting topics. Lastly, your site must have a contact number so that your visitors can contact you.

Well I used Xsite Pro and I entered the correct information. It published successfully, but it seems my Rv site one is overwriting it. Should I just delete the RV site Built site?

I would recommend you don't delete but take copies and then delete.

So if all goes wrong you can re-up those files.

I have found that it is usually the index file that is to blame.

you may find that you have an index file in both HTML and PHP.

I think I do have the index error you mentioned. Do you know what to do to resolve it?

    Hi dsbusiness23,

I'd go for Wordpress without a doubt. If you know basic html and css then you can do alot with Wordpress now. So many businesses are using Wordpress (including a lot of the big guru's).

Your sites have a low amount of functionality and pages so WordPress would be right for you. Then again if you are planning on having additional functionality or plan or making them bigger, then you should start with Joomla so that the upgradability is there.
