Clickbank serial refunders?

by entry

If you sell 4-5 multiple products from your website,

and 1 person buys all the products, and then refunds all of them after some weeks, to get the product free

then can clickbank stop this happening? by checking that it is the same credit card? or same Name?

what if they use a different credit card each time?

i have had serial refunders before, so am asking what security measure clickbank has? if any?

or is it all within the 60 day guarentee, so they cant do anything ?

Just suck it up. It's just the cost of doing business, and not really a serious problem to be concerned about.

Don't sell on clickbank and you can stop it yourself.

Sadly CB sellers have no control over the refund process and unaware if there is problem with the product (real or imaginary). So we have very little control over the number of refunds people can claim, even daily serial claimers.

CB simply refunds and takes the money from your account, followed by an email to you. Occasionally CB will ban a serial refunder but they simply use another computer and email address and continue the scam.

If the product has an unusually high rate of refunds there may be something wrong with the product or sales page and most likely CB will address the vendor.

However, if you do experience a few serial refunders from over a wide range of products, consider changing your ad copy, promotion, target market, or even the products.

You get people that do this, it happens......you just have to live with it, you will find most people are genuine and will not refund without good reason......serial refunders do get caught.....leave it to clickbank though.

You'll just have to accept this if and when it happens, and leave it to Clickbank to do something about it. They most likely may have internal controls for preventing excessive refunds, but they certainly don't share with vendors or customers what criteria they look for when trying to keep this from occurring.

It's all about your niche. MMO stuff gets refunds. I have a cookbook on clickbank with no refunds and tons of sales.

Yes, some niches spread the word that you can get a product for free if you simply request a refund after buying it.

The way I deal with this is by providing so much value that it would take them weeks to get through it all and master it. I also provide updates on a regular basis.

I ban IP's which get a refund so that they cannot become serial refunders without some effort.

The only times I have gotten refunds from CB is when I found

    a) I already own the product, its been rebranded and the marketing pitch doesn't tell you enough to know its something you already have

    b) It doesn't match the specifications - for example some products say they are a software and what you actually get is an ebook - no software in sight

    c) Its just plain rubbish or doesn't work.

Clickbank is a serial refunders paradise. They will give a refund to anybody for any reason. I don't think you even need a reason. And yeah, like Mr Goss said, IMers know the game and take full advantage of it.

Problem is that theres just so much rehash crap being sold over at clickbank, so most people will just buy a product to see if it will help, if not then they hit the refund button, combat this, stop selling crap, SIMPLE

It didn't cost you anything so who cares.

It's like trying to go after someone pirating your movies/music, pointless.

I do not sell on Clickbank although I have purchased many resources there.

My suggestion would be that if you do not have a high refund rate, as in having a bad product, and you see the same refunder 3 times, I would make a point to report them to CB.

Yes, as someone said in a previous reply, they can change computers, email addresses but most of these type of people are too lazy to do so and will forget about it if CB bans their IP address. Not sure, does CB provide you with a record or receipt that shows their IP address? If so, use your Cpanel to block it and yes, again it will not prevent them from using a proxy or another computer but as I said before, most of these people are too lazy to go to the extra trouble.

There are probably just as many scammers buying products than selling them.. At this point I still believe that the ones taking people's money and run with it are much worse than the ones taking a copy of our products and running with it. So I can live with that as long as it doesn't go out of hand.

      It happens. Move on.
Spend your time improving your product and making more sales.
And consider moving away from CB if it really bothers you.
