Newbie plan of action is struggling.. Assistance required/desired!

Hey everyone!

First of all I want to say hello, I'm Brent, and thanks for all the great posts! I've been a lurker for a while..

Now, I've been in this business for about 4 months now thinking that I was working hard the whole period. Only now do I realise that I've only REALLY been working hard for the last month.

I've pretty much stuck to the same strategy for the whole time. That is, I've picked 5 niches, set up 5 WP blogs under my own domains, posted reviews, and article marketed the hell out of them through EZA!

I've got about 300 articles up, some weeks I did 10 a day, some 5 a day, some only a couple per week. My CTR is about 20% from my articles, and about 17% from my review sites.. I've made a couple of hundred dollars.

Now, I'm stuck. If I don't submit articles en mass everyday, I lose ALL of my traffic because my articles drop off the google ranking after a couple of days..

So, here are my questions:

1) Do I just keep submitting 1 article per niche per day and hope for the best?

2) I've pretty much run out of keywords.. Should I use them over and over again in new articles?

3) Should I be posting different versions of my articles to my actual blog too?

Nobody's got any magic tricks have they? What have I left out? I can continue what I'm doing forever if I could use the same set of keywords over and over again, but I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do..

Any advice, comments, anything will be much appreciated!

Well immediately what I'd do if I had all those articles in circulation is find the ones with best CTR and start building backlinks to them. Social bookmarking them etc.

I'd also start backlinking my actual blogs and work on pushing them up the SERPS.

I'd get into some forums and start posting comments.

I'd throw up a few lens and Hubs and link them up to my blogs and I'd start posting some of the articles to my sites and start pinging away!

I've just started doing this and as I sit here typing this I've had 3 sales pop up on my icon tray!

There's work there, but it pays off!

    good luck

    Great job starting out!

First thing is you need to build lists in these niches. Sending 1 email and making 50-100 bucks from it (a few sales) is MUCH easier than constantly submitting articles.

To get a bit more traffic for your blogs, on top of your article marketing, you should comment on other blogs in your niches. Get on those sites, write something that builds on the blog's content, and then do it OVER AND OVER AND OVER...

You'll get noticed by the blogger and you might get a guest post or JV opportunity.

However, you need to get a list building setup going on with those blogs...you'll make more and it will be MUCH easier.

    Cheers,

    Brad Spencer

PS- Here are simple answers to your question

    1. No, I answered this above with list building...keep submitting though!

    2. Use your keywords as long as they generate traffic.

    3. Rewrite your articles 40-60% and submit to other directories like Buzzle.com, Go Articles, etc.

Look up PR Checker in google and then use this site to judge article directories. High PR generally means High search results (that's over generalized but it works here).

    Hey Brent,
I'm pretty new too, but one thing came to my mind when I read your post: start outsourcing your writing dude. Replace the time you are spending with money and start working on a product for your niches. Oh yeah, take some of that content and make some videos too with camtasia and power point and blast those out using tubemogul or traffic geyser. Just some thoughts. Oh yeah start squeezing you traffic for their names and email addresses if you're not doing that already.

    Hey Brent,

Good advice from Ari above! You can get other people to do this for pennies on the dollar and you will have time to do what you need to do.
Are you capturing names and emails at your site and if so how many per day.

The money is in the list my friend and delivering Super High Actionable Content! Hope that helps...

Instead of writing one per day ...write at least 10 articles a day

I'm trying to understand what it is your are trying to do with
all your articles you are submitting to these site...

    Are you building your list?
    Selling affiliate products?
    Traffic to your blog?

What is your trying to accomplish?

Your sites are only (at most) four months old. They're babies, so...

Now it's time to build links, so that not only do you get article traffic, you also slowly get traffic from the search engines, and quickly get direct traffic from your links.

I hate link building with a passion; if you're the same, out-source it.

For long term traffic, without constant article writing, you need links -- RELEVANT links, one-way if possible.

A tip: write a press release for each of your sites. Press releases give you good, long term links -- I'm still getting traffic from press releases I wrote in 2002.

I wish you much success, you've made a great start.

    Cheers

    Angela

I get 95% of my traffic coming directly off my articles. If I stop submitting for a couple of days my traffic drops right down, so I try to submit every day to keep a constant flow of hits. I'm also slowly building back links when people publish my articles.

My traffic comes from articles and mainly from Google (free).

There are so much issues in IM that it's difficult to find a single all-in-one solution
