Does anyone know of a workaround for saving PowerPoint projects to video files - so I can use them on video sites ?

I use Camtasia to do that but I suspect you are looking for a less expensive solution.

  Ideally, yes ... I'm trying to get out of the habit of buying loads of software - offers which reach my inbox.
  
  I've got ProShow Producer but I'm so used to using PowerPoint, it would be much easier for me to be able to save as a video file from within PP but that is not possible ...
  
  So, now, I'm looking for a cheap or free alternative which will just import my PP project and save it out as a video file.

  If you want to convert your presentation to a clearer video (maybe HD) with all the original elements preserved, it is recommended to use a professional ppt2video tool like Moyea or Leawo.

  BB Flashback Express or Camstudio are free screen recorder software. I have used them both and they worked for me. Though I still prefer Camtasia.

If you are using powerpoint 2010, there is an option within powerpoint itself to save in video format.

Camtasia has a 30 day trial so you can do what you need to do and if you don't want it you can delete it, also there are a lot of tutorials on the techsmith webiste

  You can get 60 day trail for Office 2010 from Microsoft. I did expressly for the PP video save option.
  
  PP 2010 will allow you to capture your presentation timing AND narration to an AVI file.

  I do Robbdogg, I paid the year price for unlimited access. It's not very good IMO, The videos are awesome, but there are so many on the internet, that they have their certain "vibe" and don't do too well.
  
  Like I said, I personally think that they are way over done. If you plan on spending time with it and doing one right, then it might work, but if you are planning on creating a bunch of videos, don't waste your time. This just junks up you tube with videos that they hate and won't rank.
  
  At least this has been my personal experience with it.
  
  YOu can go to fiverr and pay 5 dollars to get an awesome video made. Just provide them with pics, video and a script.
