Fraudulent eBay Buyers

eBay charged me $50 in fees today for some purchases made from a fraudulent eBay account. How do I know the account was fraudulent? I clicked on the buyer's name and the profile did not even exist. This guy bought $900 worth of stuff and the money never went to my PayPal account. Yet eBay charges me $50 in fees.

Luckily I didn't send out the items to the scam artist. I go in and try to open an unpaid item case, but eBay won't let me because it's 32 days past the item end case. Now I'm out $50 bucks and I still have inventory to sell. This keeps happening to me with different scam artists. Sometimes eBay catches them and credits the fees back to my account, but I always get fraudulent purchases when I list stuff on eBay and it's getting really frustrating to have to pay fees that I don't deserve to pay. What am I doing wrong? Is this happening to anyone else?

Usually eBay does not take fees if the buyer was a scammer, send an email to them and see what they say.

Well, eBay was a good idea a few years ago. Recently it is way too "buyer friendly".

There is one company that makes money with eBay: eBay.

The rest: well, not really worth it unless you just want to get rid of some stuff that you no longer need.

Basing your business on eBay is in most cases a little less safe than gambling.

How do I know all this? Well I've tried it. Took me 4 weeks to get to power seller status. Only problem: the fees ate up all the profit.

They are more buyer friendly because it makes buyers come back.

I would contact eBay with the complain. I am sure that they are taking care of their reputation and if so they won't let you feel scammed by their system. Make them know what you think about this situation and wait for their positive reaction.
