What do you do when you're banned from affiliate networks

Not that I've had this problem because I haven't.

You have to put in your social security number once you make your first $600 with any company.

So if you cancel before you make that $600 and then sign up again. .. might this be a way to stay unbanned?

In the video URL below I examine this. (not demonstration, I just put my thoughts into a screencast.)

Can't view the youtube video as i'm behind a firewall so I don't know whether you state that this is an incredibly bad idea. Apologies if you did.

If you have a social security number why wouldn't you enter it?

If you don't enter it, close the account, setup a new one and rinse and repeat are you not actively trying to avoid paying tax?

Governments take a very dim view of this and there are some very harsh penalties for tax evasion. Well there are in the UK anyway, and I'm sure that America is the same.

One is legal and the other isnt. Tax Evasion I think is the Illegal one on the other hand Tax Avoidance is a different matter.

Again why would you put your Social Security Number in???

If you want to make more than $600 you have to give ClickBank and other affiliate programs your SS. Didn't you know that?

Did you really publicly put that out there?

As a business entity I never place my social with any affiliate program only my EIN.
But it's not for the avoidance of tax only good business sense.

What you're suggesting is like walking a tightrope with Vaseline on it.

No, my SS is not publicly out there - is this what you were asking me??

But the video itself is public. I'm not recommending people do it, as I explained in the video its more like a question to anyone who might know the answers - "would it work".

As I stated I'm not saying anyone should do it, even if it does.

Certainly not a good idea and it won't go unnoticed by the affiliate networks because none of them finally deletes your data once you cancel. Everybody has to pay taxes, they are used for schools, hospitals, roads and so on, it's not like you'd have to pay taxes on money you don't earn.

IF you are in the U.S. only. Of course we know that - it's the law.

IF you are in the U.S. - the suggestion of canceling accounts and resigning up to stay below the "limit" could get you in serious trouble.

If you didn't use totally different info - name, address, pay to, etc - the affiliate program would catch it. If you did use different info to resign up - that could be fraud. Not smart at all.

Well, this certainly qualifies as the "Short Term Thinking" post of the month.

Look, if you don't want to build a business then don't. It's that simple.

Nickel and diming your own thought processes is a sure way to end up a loser.

Unless, of course, you're starting out that way which appears to be the case.

And I don't mean that in a bad way...

Not sure if it's contempt, but think about this.
Someone not thinking of trying this would spend less then a minute thinking about it.

there's something called intellectual curiosity - it could be an opportunity for these affiliate networks to patch the hole up.

whats wrong with wondering about something? its not like a bunch of people will look at this and say "oh I should try that"

Its not a how to guide, like I already said. and its not like I'm even recommending it.

judgers like you are the problem, not me.

I can't believe you would even post this. Secondly, I can't believe the forum has allowed it to stay.

Most of us are here to learn about running an ethical and legitimate business, not how to have it stripped away from us as we're headed to federal prison.

Someone just wondering if it might work... tells us a lot.
