Protocol For Creating Facebook Fan Page Opt-in Squeeze Page

Here is what I'm wanting: A FBML page or whatever is most current ... on my fan page which will be an opt-in page to sign up for my newsletter.

What is the proper wording and protocol I should know when approaching a developer to create this type of thing?

Anything else I need to watch out for?

I basically pull in an appropriately sized page,
from my site, into an iframe on FB. I typically
use reveal code where they have to "Like" my
FB fanpage before I offer them some type of
    opt-in bribe.

Here's a video on how I, or my teacher, does
    it:

Here's an actual page on FB that uses the reveal
    code:

It does work for building a list on FB... although
I'm off to a fairly slow start since I have other pages
on FB that I focus more attention on.

Facebook used to use this thing called FBML which was like a special html for facebook. They don't use that anymore.

Now, they use something called an Iframe.

What the iframe is, is a window (with the pane of glass removed) to another site.

So, first you need to put your contact form on another site.

You want to have this other site display in the proper dimensions, or users will have to use a scrollbar on the iframe.

If it is the right size, the visitor will still 'feel' like they are on facebook.

Next, you would need to connect the external website to display on the facebook fan page in the window or iframe. This is now done by creating a special facebook application. The application works like a bridge to pull the two sites together - facebook and your website.

After that, it is just a matter of customizing how you want that iframe page to be found. You can make it in the settings so that it is the landing page that visitors see first, or you can link it through from some other page on your site.

You'll want a fairly clear picture in your head first of what your visitors see first, second, etc. This can become the navigation on the external site - which of course displays clearly in the iframe.
