Took A Big Newbie Step!

Today I woke up to go do some more Fiverr stuff and noticed that I had some comments on my blog, which was a first. It gave me a huge boost of confidence to know someone was actually reading it. Not to mention I have made a total of $10 from adsense since I set up the blog!

A few days ago I had been looking at domains that might work for my niche and today I finally decided to buy one! Still looking at hosting options but now that I have actually paid for my domain, I feel a whole new charge of energy and inspiration! Not to mention, I think I picked a pretty good domain name.

Ya, just looking into hosting right now and deciding exactly what the plan for the domain is. If someone more experienced feels like hitting me up on MSN for a bit I could use someone to help me straighten out my thoughts.

Hostgator seems to be what most people suggest so I'm looking there for hosting trying to figure out which plan I need. I've never bought a domain/hosting so it is going a bit over my head. XD

I have the plan that is around$15/mnth and have many domains hosted on it with no problems. You can always get a small plan and upgrade any time that you need to. Hostgator is the best.

$10 in adsense is pretty darn good off the bat. Now that you've found a paying niche, my recommendation is to build out a few complementary sites that will drive even more traffic to your money site. Look to create supporting sites using Google's Wonder Wheel. You'll see your adsense grow dramatically.

I believe about a week maybe week and a half ago.

Ya, I just signed up for the baby package from hostgator. The hatchling plan was only a few cents cheaper month to month so there was no point, plus I used the coupon code for one cent hosting for the first month.

I signed up for GetResponse to start. They have a free plan and you can upgrade to paid later.

Congrats Amanda - it always starts this Humble. I can remember having made only $40 or $50 for the 1st 6 months I got into blogging because I didn't even know what I was doing at that point. Ah :-) It'll be a tough journey .. but an awesome one! Keep it Up!

To see more results use this new found enthusiam and go to town on your stuff. More work, equals more money for you. So get to work.

Cheers to more successes coming your way.

I found a coupon code for 1 cent hosting for the first month from hostgator, just picking a package and getting to work. Once I get that done I will get my autoresponder and get going to work on the site!

  • Amanda, listen to the voice of experience
and go for the "Baby" package from Hostgator
    to start with.

You still get unlimited domains, storage and
bandwidth (such as a newbie would use) and
it only cost you 10 bucks a month.

At any time in the future you need a bigger
package, it's a matter of logging a ticket and
tell them you want to upgrade.

The people at Hostgator have been great to
me and I highly recommend them to everybody
    I talk to.

There are some limitations - you can't run your
own mail server, and if you like pictures, you
can only store around 10,000 or so before they
    start to complain.

So, if you like to upload a lot of pictures, get an
Amazon S3 account and get yourself a third
party autoresponder such as Aweber or GetResponse.

You've got a good start, now run with it!

    Best of luck to you.

    Michael

Brilliant, Amanda - well done! I agree with Michael re Hostgator as I have used them for ages for all my sites and they provide excellent service. Also second what Dave said - complementary sites will really boost your earnings and consistently building on what you have already achieved will lead to that unstoppable snowball of success.

Think of your sites as a network that feed one another and I find it's good to expand out your niche as it grows so you are constantly gaining fresh material that you can re-purpose and re-use throughout.

Also in control panel is live chat, they are VERY friendly and helpful in it and I always get through to them fast.

just don't turn into me where you buy 200+ domains just because they are keyword friendly and get searches, and then never have the time to develop them

    Congratulations, Amanda!

    You are on your way.

I use BlueHost but have heard great things about HostGator.

Also, check out their affiliate program.

I use AWeber and got the $1 free trial for 30 days. Then it started out at $19 per month but that is for unlimited lists and unlimited emails sent.

I have been real happy with the decisions I have made so far.

Keep us up to date on your progress.

I wish you all the best!

    Amanda,

I remember when you first posted in my eBook thread -- remember??? Seems ages ago, and now you've started a blog, are making Adsense money, and are MOTIVATED!!

You are ahead of 95% of people on these forums, because you are the 5% that has taken action. You have put any obstacles aside, and decided this is WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO!!

I want to commend you on taking the necessary steps to push aside any distractions and make your first $$$$. I bet a year from now you will be writing posts to help people, and making a steady income online.

Stories like these show that success can be achieved with the right mindset.

You found methods that work, and used them!

Thank you! I never intended to make money on my blog, was more for my benefit when it came to keeping track of things and to share my learning experience. I'm excited to put my domain to use in a more money making direction. Been writing articles like crazy to start posting up when I can actually access my wp panel.

      Hey Amanda,

Congrats on your 1st success online. I'm a newbie too and have currently been stuck in the learning curve for months. I have all the tools, courses, domains, hosting, and autoresponder but without taking any FULL action yet. As a result, after months (approx. 4) I've not got any result yet. I may know the reason but haven't found a way to escape THE STUCK MIND and DOUBT.
Today, your success story actually gives me some good inspiration.
Hope that I will find out the way soon!
      Thanks and keep in touch.
      Rgds,
      Lam
