Searching For Site on Google

When you type in "site:domainname.com" on google should all the pages of your website be the result? I can't seem to search for some of the pages on my new website. Also the description of the result for my home page is something along the lines of "This is a WordPress blog......." as if I haven't updated my site, even though I have.

The ones that don't show up aren't indexed yet. Bookmark them on Digg or Stumbleupon and they should show up within 24-48 hours.

Yes the site: command just shows the pages indexed. If google decides a page is not important enough due to insufficient incoming links, it would not show up in such a search. As mentioned above, you can get more of those pages indexed through deep link building.

As for the outdated description, I have seen that happen too. That should update eventually. To speed things up you could try adding your site to google webmaster tools and submit a sitemap. Also more backlinks may also help give your site detail updating higher priority

Submit your RSS feed to Feedage.com and submit your homepage to Digg.com. Google should come crawling and update your title in the search soon enough.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

Great info here, I am going to try a few thins suggested here.

I use Posterous to point to my new page/post and have Posterous send it out to all my social media accounts. That works for me

    Yes, NateRivers is right.
Be aware that sometimes it takes even few weeks for google to index.

By right all the pages of your site should be seen. If it isn't, you should try tweeting your site's URL. I've found great success with this method in getting my pages to get indexed by google.
