What Do Affiliates Look For??

Hello Everyone,

I'm a newbie/starter in the industry but I have read and bought a lot of brilliant information on this forum (despite not actively contributing). Anyway I am now looking to start an online services company (Auctions) and I'm looking for a business model to make this work for affiliates. What would affiliates want as minimum income and how could we make it more attractive for people like the great WF crowd to promote us?

Any feedback and help would be really appreciated.

WOW! You have decided to take on eBay, Amazon, and a dozen others head to head huh? That is a tall task and my personal advice would be to start off small with a few very specific niches and build from there. Try to focus on the areas that don't get a lot of attention from eBay and other auction sites.

As far as an affiliate you are going to have to pay them quite well because they can already promote nearly everything under the sun from Amazon and eBay.

    Good Luck!

I agree with Benjamin here. That is a tall order and you would need some serious start-up funding to compete with the likes of eBay and Amazon. If you have some revolutionary new approach to this or a specific niche auction site then go for it. But it is probably better to test the water in a smaller niche and see what it is all about.

As for making an attractive affiliate program, that comes with an attractive product or service. First make something that people want to visit and talk about and then you will have affiliates signing up left and right for your product/service. Obviously, the better the % for affiliates the more attractive it is. Good luck

Something you could create would be an Etsy like site that has an affiliate program based on actual sales.

I know I would personally sign up to promote small niche items through something like this.
