Can I Redirect From A PayPal Email Invoice?

I'd like to be able to send a client a PayPal invoice through email, then, whenever they open and pay, they automatically get redirected to the download page.....

I know it can be done using the paypal button, when they purchase from a page, but I can't seem to find a way to use the redirect function once a customer pays via an email invoice. Can it be done, and I'm just missing it?

So, does anyone know of a way to use a PayPal button within an email invoice? Since, using the button seems to be the only way to redirect a buyer.....

I don't think you can do what you are asking. The invoice is just a more convenient/professional appearing way of sending a money request.

I use the invoice system as most of my clients like to have it for accounting purposes.

Maybe someone else will see something I am missing.

    Thanks,

    John

Thanks for the feedback, John. I think a workaround would be to put the PayPal button on a page on my website, email the client the link to that page, and then when they go to that page and pay by clicking the button, have them then get redirected to another page (download page) on my site.

When creating a PayPal button you have the option to get a link especially for emails. In the advanced options for that button specify the return URL and you're done. When your customers use the link in email to pay they will be redirected to the return URL after completing the payment. Hope this helps.
