I´m not what you you mean... if you have a WordPress blog, then you don´t have to mess with the html..
If you need a WordPress, you can find it in the controlpanel (in Cpanel just seach for fantastico) then go to WordPress.org, there you will be able to choose from lots of templates (search for blog) and you can pick free templates, or premium.
then install by just clicking buttons, so you don´t need to use html either.

I'm looking for a niche blog template that looks semi decent and is easy to edit (with or without menus). The default templates from wordpress are mainly crap.

I think that any premium theme would work for you but I see lots of people who develop niche site for others use either the StudioPress Magazine theme or WooThemes Gazette theme. I hope that helps!

Unless you tell us which niche, that's kind of hard to answer.

Try going to "add themes" and typing in your niche to see if there any templates designed for it.

If you are referring to the old "default" and "classic" themes, then I may agree.

But there is only one default theme now with WP and it is called TwentyTen. And it is pretty slick for a free theme. Easy to update, easy to use...etc.

Of course if you need more fancy bling and gadgets, look for a premium theme that fits your needs.

Yeah, any niche will be easy to edit with Wordpress. I would get a premium theme such as Thesis though. Makes life much easier

Have you tried creating your own theme using Artisteer? I am also not technically savvy but I find Artisteer very easy to use. You can create your own design or use the samples they have for several niches. No html coding here.
