Hiding my HOME Address, from paypal THANK you pages (when people buy my products)

I have some products set up, using RAP, and when people purchase and pay with paypal, and then their order is complete, it shows my name and address.

The buyers see my address, which I dont want to reveal.

Can this be hidden/changed on the Paypal settings?

I'm not sure about the Paypal issue but as for my address I signed up for a 6"x9" box at a local UPS Store. I made this my business address for my bank, credit cards, DBA, etc. You don't have to worry about people knowing your address this way.

Instead of listing my address as "box 150" I list it as Suite 150. I've had it setup this way for years. As an added benefit all of my shipments from online purchases, RMA returns, etc get sent to the store and they hold them there for me. I've even had a bush computer desk and hutch delivered to my 6"x9" box. They don't mind at all. They just set my shipments aside until I come in to pick them up.

I've moved twice since starting my business but I never had to change my business address.

What are you trying to hide? I don't have a fixed address, but I stand behind everything I do so I don't mind if people see the address I use (my sisters).

just make the address NOT showing, hide it.

Stop it from being revealed. (rather than provide a fake alternative one)

Can we Stop it being revealed, from the settings?

I promoted web hosting via snail mail once. I'd get new DBA signups from my local town clerk (I live by a large city) and I would snail mail them a trifold mailer about web hosting packages. It had a link to a website only. No phone contact, address, etc.

One guy took it upon himself to go to the return mailing address to discuss the plans in person instead of going to the website. He ended up at my local ups store asking for me.

There are a lot of strange people out there. Most people use their home address for their business and it's best to keep the address where you LIVE private.

      That's all I'm sayin

Why do people always assume that questions like this are because people have something to hide? There can be loads of reasons, maybe they live at home and their parents don't want the address made public for example. It would be great if members actually responded to the question and not with their own philosophy on life.

So, a thread that could have answered the question, but hasn't yet. Thanks to those who actually took the time to respond to the question

I've so far managed to find out that it appears if you sell a 'service' not a tangible product (not sure yet how digital fits in) you don't have to give a seller address and can choose to hide it within PayPal. That's all I've got so far, off to check more.

PayPal pretty much takes the position that buyers have a right to know who they're buying from. Of course, you could always give them a call and ask.

Mine has my real name and the real address of our vacation home --which is in a gated community, so no surprise visitors will be showing up there

    Direct from a PayPal mod:

The only way to keep your address hidden from buyers is to mark your payments as a service. As it is a service being offered there would be no reason for us to pass on your address. The only problem with this is there is no Seller Protection coverage for services as you can see from the portion of our User Agreement below.

"13.3 What type of payments are eligible for re-imbursement under PayPal Buyer Protection?

PayPal Buyer Protection only applies to PayPal payments for certain tangible, physical goods that can be posted. Payments for the following are not eligible for re-imbursement under PayPal Buyer Protection:

    intangible items
    services....."
