Is someone stealing my traffic/sales?

Hi,
I'm a new member and I have a problem. I bought a web site about a month ago and it took me alittle over a week to set up a new Paypal account, add to cart buttons and transfer the domain from Yahoo Small Business to GoDaddy. My problem is that for two weeks I was averaging an order a day then nothing for the last seven days. The seller gave me access to his paypal account and I downloaded his salles records and the longest he went with out a sale was 4 to 5 days over the last few years and that didn't happen very often, but for the most part he averaged 7 sales a week. Also the Yahoo control panel showed that the site was averaging five to six hundred visits a month and after the transfer I was averaging ten aday and this week only about three a day.

Did I screw somthing up in the transfer or is someone ripping me off?

Phillip

To start with where was the website traffic coming from? Was it coming from direct Google searches or was it coming from traffic from other websites? If he owns the websites that the traffic was coming from it's possible he just redirected the traffic to another website.

Any way you look at it you need to start promoting the website yourself.

The seller ranked high for a couple quires but for the most part was not even on the radar so I have to assume that most of the traffic was linked and a high percentage of reorders, about 30 percent of the order I received were reorders

I've read a little on Forged DNS data and other topics so I know it is possible to steal traffic from a web site, and although I'm to small to really bother with I dont want to pour alot of money into marketing (ppc) just to get ripped off
