Sort of depends upon what your budget is and what you're trying to outsource. Fiverr.com is great if you just have a few things that you need done like graphics, video, articles etc. If you have a ton of work or a big project then, yes, elance odesk and freelancer are good choices.

    Hope this helps!

I recommend going to firms/outsourcing company. The staff that you lease are backed by a good management and technical team also, your files and data are secured and confidential. You are assured that the staff that you ease are 100% working for you and dedicated. Those sites that you mentioned are all freelancer sites, people from freelance sites are all freelancer who are working from home and maybe working with other clients at the same time.

oDesk has always worked best for me. It really depends on exactly what you need. A small job like create a video or something of that nature would be something to look for on Fiverr. While larger jobs like a 6 month VA would be more suited for oDesk or freelancer. Something specific that has to do with SEO or content writing take a look at the services forum here at Warrior Forum.

I have used odesk and elance with some very good results.

But you better make sure you are explaining it to a five year old, most of those guys do not speak good english. SO you need to train them, or tell them what to do exactly like a kid. Otherwise you do not get much bang for your buck!

I've had nothing but problems with Odesk. I think it is odd that nobody on here talks about vWorker.com (used to be RentACoder)

I've used Rentacoder since 2002 and never heard of Odesk until last year. I've only had problems using odesk

I think odesk.com, freelance.com and elance.com are the best outsourcing website. I remember our first SEO project was from odesk.com last year in may when we started our company. I think odesk is best because any work experience we got job and after completion we got more and more jobs then before....

Do you need to ask ? certainly my website

kidding. I would say depend on the type of work you want to outsource.

If you are outsourcing big job or small one ? is it programming ? video ? article writing ?

I personally use over 10 websites to outsource, I wouldn't stick to one as each job need specific skills that I wouldn't find people who can do it in website x but they would be in website y.

I wish there is only one best website. That would make our life easier

odesk is great, but it takes some experience. only hire 5* providers. i never trust a provider with a ton of 1-hour jobs, this is probably tossing jobs between accounts to jack up rating. odesk is very good to track the work - like having an employee sitting in your room.
don't use direct-hire resume banks anymore, takes almost as much time to select/interview/hire/train/monitor as to do it myself. without supervision people tend to work 5 times less for the money you pay them. paying more to get more real hours doesn't help, you pay more but get the same.

I am a member of freelancer.com. If a contractor agrees to pay for tests, definitely can choose this outsourcing site.
freelance.com is also another good outsourcing site. As a contractor, regarding their service, I don't have any problem but what I don't expect is sluggish replies from the clients.Otherwise, contractors enjoy their services including prompt response from customer care and daily mails about new jobs.

I would mention another outsourcing site-odesk.com.There, contractors can take tests without paying costs and services are also better I have received.

    This is an awesome thread!

My personal outsourcing sites favs are:

    - odesk for programmers, webdesigners
    - fivver for videos, voiceovers graphics- insane value if you get a good provider ( see reviews of their past customers)
    - online.ph long term VA for ongoing client work - cheaper than going long term with
    someone from odesk

I think Odesk.com has the largest number of contractors among all the freelancing sites. I personally hire using that site for data entry and other VA tasks. Finding a reliable one though among the big pool of contractors can be a problem. For web design and web development, I had better success at Elance although I think the contractors there charge more.

WarriorForum is the best place to hire virtual assistants - The other sites are good, but I feel that their ratings are being manipulated - just imagine someone creates a fake id and posts a job requirement and then accepts his own bid and gives great reviews and 5 stars to him/herself.

The guys listing on these sites are experts in IT - they can hide their IPs for listing a project and pay with pre-paid credit cards under fake names.

The best option would be to find someone who has the guts to prepare a prototype of your project on his server and will ask for money only after your final approval and before deploying the project your host - as I do (shameless plug :p)

It's not about finding the right site for outsourcing but it's about finding the right PERSON.

You can do this via Google search or any outsourcing platform such as elance.com, odesk.com etc. Those sites just give you the access to the person but you must do the filtering yourself.

    Great question.

With your outsourcing it depends on what you are after. What I mean by this is if you a looking for quick jobs like timeline covers, graphics, headers, video intros etc fiverr is the best place in the world.

If you are looking for a more in depth job that works as a project elance and odesk are excellent. If you are starting out, odesk rocks because of its management system. You can see what your outsourcers are doing and you only pay for work that gets done. It is a requirement that the workers install a screen management software on their computers which gives you the ability to check what they are doing.

If you are looking to set up a long term business and retain staff elance is great, plus advertising on craigslist or odesk to attract long term employees. If you are reluctant to do this because of not knowing what they are doing you can get a great management software called rescuetime.com which is a system that installs on their computer so you can track what tasks they are working on.
