Making Money By Article Writing

Hi
I am Jim. I want to know how to apply for demand studios and textbroker? Which is a better one in terms of payment? Can we write about any topics or are topics provided by them? Is there a limit to the number of articles we can write? You can even suggest any other sites which are good.

The topics are provided and there is no limit after the initial trial period where they test your quality. Textbroker is much easier to get in to but it doesn't pay as well. If you really want to get into writing for money, I would highly suggest seeking clients directly because you will earn much more. I make about one cent per word from Textbroker... I make 2-3 times that from my clients and usually get more interesting assignments. Not to mention I have had a lot of issues with Textbroker where people steal your articles and then reject them over and over again so you don't get paid.

Great info from Amanda and Marianne. Writing for your own clients is always more fun and pays more. Other places to consider looking for work are Craigslist-I once found a guy looking for a 1000-word blog post, paying $1k! You may also want to look into writing for print publications as they pay a high per piece rate, sometimes up to $300 for an article.

To answer the meat of your question, DS pays $15/article and Textbroker pays per word, depending on your rating. I'm a level 4 there so a 500 word article is $7. Both places give you topics/titles.

DS is horrific to write for because wherever their titles come from, they are many times illogical, the editors take forever to approve, and they only give you one shot to revise. If you don't revise properly you get $0 for the article. Anyway, to start they limit you to 3 articles--then they open you up to 10 that you can 'claim' and when those are approved you can 'claim' more (up to 10 at a time). They pay twice a week.

Textbroker is pretty smooth even though it pays far less. Most of my articles are accepted within 1-2 days. Unlike Amanda I have had no problem at all with theft of articles or anything else. You can only do one article at a time--you can't even look at the topic lists until you finish the one you've 'claimed'. They pay every two weeks.

From what I've read, there are people making full-time income at both places--I'd echo what the others have said about private clients although I'd also caution you to price yourself correctly.
