Why aren't we all utilizing the 'Rate This Thread' feature???

I just realized that this is a VERY HUGE resource to help organize things around here, but BARELY ANYONE is utilizing it... I am guilty myself.

Look at it this way people, you don't have to rate a thread 5 stars... if it's crap, you can give it a 1 star 'Poor' rating.

I think it would be cool if everyone started utilizing this very cool feature by taking one second to rate the threads...

It just adds one more layer of filtering/sorting... you can sort by the most/least replied, the most/least viewed, and YES, by highest or lowest rating.

How about it? You could be the first to rate this thread!

  Exactly - to our friends, to our other forum names....etc. The really outstanding threads (which are very few lately) do have good ratings.
  That's the point of the system and it seems to be working.

  I didn't even realize that there was anywhere to rate a thread I just did a search around, and there it is - right at the top!

Here's my point... out of 19,325 threads currently in the main forum, only 143 of those have a rating. I do understand that good posts are far and few between, but we aren't even rating the good posts that deserve a good rating...

Out of those 143 ratings, there were only ten 4 star ratings and only three 3 star ratings.

There is nothing with a 2 star or 1 star 'poor' rating.

I was thinking on the other end of the spectrum... if I see a post that is rated poor, one star, I would probably save some time by skipping over posts that are rated poorly.

If I am surfing YouTube for good vids to watch, and I spot something that the community rates as 1 star, I will save precious time and look for something worthy of viewing.

Just a thought... please don't lynch me for having a thought...

  There are a couple of WSO, one got rated even though everyone in the thread said there was a problem with the link. This was rated within minutes of being posted.
  
  Another one is for something that will be done on a certain date, and again this was rated within a very short time of being posted.
  
  I don't know, but I would say that it is impossible to know in advance if something is good, even if past products were excellent.

  I can see the importance or rating but most people just forget that it is there. So if all posts are not rated then I cannot see the value.
