myprofile.ignorelist.com on Firefox

I've been having big problems using Firefox the last few days. Whenever I try to visit a site it says down the bottom, connecting to myprofile.ignorelist.com, and it's incredibly slow.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused it was making too many spammy links, especially from this list of .edu forums I tried.

Is anyone else having this problem, and does anyone know how to fix it, or what causes it?

Since visiting that spam ridden forum, I've noticed my site slip down in Google, I'm no longer listed on a Yahoo search, and Hubpages says my hub is linking to a prohibited site. My site! WTF.

Please there must be some computer experts here, and I've seen a lot of other people are having this problem, can anyone help? Do I have to uninstall Firefox, and reinstall it, would that help?

I am having the same problem, I wish someone would have an answer to the question.

      • I'm also having the same problem, and it is really starting to piss me off.

When I try to go to IgnoreList.com, it forwards to FreeDNS.org. They are trying to hide something, and I don't like it one bit.

Perhaps the answer to your question lies in your very own comment.

I googled it and seems a lot of people are having the same problem, but I found no one offering the solution.

Is this the latest version of FF? I haven't upgraded and don't have this problem

I realize this thread is a few months old but I just found the answer. I had this problem as well and found an addon that will take care of it. Go to your Addons page in Firefox and download Blocksite and install it. Next go to '''Options''' (on the addons page and to the right of the newly installed Blocksite. Then click on '''Add''' and type in http://myprofile.ignorelist.com and then click OK. This nifty little script will block it and will speed up Firefox enormously.
