When to use a aged domain?

I wonder what is "tipping point" in terms of criteria you use to determine when to use a aged domain over a new keyword rich domain?

For example using market samurai's SEO matrix.

Obviously it isn't easy to always get a old domain with exact keywords in it, however, you may find the odd keyword (domains names KW density vs domains name exact KW vs domain age).

I am not sure myself, but I hear the term of 12 months as being referred to as an aged domain.
Quite curious myself.

The whole game has changed over the past few months, with Google's new "Panda" update. No one has quite figured out whether aged domains still carry the same weight they once did. My only advice to you on this is to start integrating more social media (i.e. Facebook comments) into your site. Build a community. A lot of the old SEO tactics are not working at this time.

Only use an aged domain name over a keyword-containing new domain name if it has pagerank AND some good targeted backlinks already. Don't go with it strictly because of the fact that it's aged.
