Interesting amazon tactic my competion is using, but he must be destroyed!

My amazon sales are starting to take off, this pleases me.

I'm ranking serp 4 in google for one of my main keywords... the thing is, the guy in the number 2 spot is dissing what I'm marketing.

He's warning people not to buy my niche product, and is suggesting an alternative... I like this tactic, but I'm sure it's hurting my sales... he must be destroyed.

Does anyone else on here use this tactic... I think I may look into it.

Don't agree, I think your site should be one, or the other.

One thing I'm starting to learn is, deliver what you promise... my site is a review site... so, reviews is what they get.

    This is interesting.
Did your competitor give any valid reason on why not to purchase the product you are promoting?
If he did give a valid reason, maybe you should really change the product you are promoting?

Good point. I stand by what I'm reviewing. I made sure to only choose products that have 4 - 5 stars on amazon.

There are a few products with have a low rating, and I was sure to mention these... so my site is not just one sided.

This guy actually mentions 2 of the inferiror products with bad reviews... the ironic thing is he actually links to these on amazon with his affiliate link!

He's also quoting them well over what they actually are.

He has 2 commets, one agrees, and the other disagrees... saying they really like it... I guess it's good he posted that... I may leave a post of my own

The sole reason for his article is to push the products he's promoting at the end of the article.

That said, I need to outrank this guy! TO THE BAT CAVE!

Did you review that 2 products in your website? If both of these products have bad reviews on Amazon, make sure you clearly mention that in your review and try to put the review on the homepage?

If a potential buyer visit both your competitor's website and your website, definitely he/she will not buy the bad products given the bad reviews on Amazon.

I have reviewed one of the bad products, and it is on the home page and suggest an alternative.

I'm going to leave a good comment on this guys page, I wonder if he'll post it?

Hey, my comment was published! With a long tail keyword as my name... hopefully I can get some traffic from that... darn, I should have used a bit.ly url so I could track it... can I find out through google analytics if I get traffic from this guys site?

Honestly I would ignore it and spend your time working on outranking your competitor instead.

Glad to see your sites are making you some cash...

This is interesting but if I were you I would address it in your sites.

So what you can do is bring it up on your site.

Write an article on X vs Y and the truth or something like that and address it and you should be fine and see sales go back up.

If you have space in your title tag, maybe you can to test and change a section of the tag to see how your CTR is "Product name | Competitor product name has flaws, see why" Something to that effect.
