Craigslist Keeps Ghosting My ads...Does Backpage Work?

Im about ready to give up on Craig. Does anyone get good consistent results with backpages.

    I've never used BackPage for advertising but I've had GREAT success with Craigslist.

    $10k+ in new business in the last 6 months just from Craigslist. You need to make sure your ads are 100% unique (both title and body) and your doing it from different IPs.

    Also I noticed if you post ads from offshore IP (outside U.S.) Craigslist will ghost ads being posted in U.S. cities. I've seen this happen A LOT recently..definitely make sure they are being posted from U.S. based IP addresses.

    if your posting in the biz op category i can say Backpage is crap. even when you automate the process.. Craigslist is definitly alot better. You just gotta find out how their system works, you can buy PVA accounts for 5 bucks a peace or less and use them... but if u cross post and so on... ur ads are flagged usually... so follow the rules, ask pva providers how to do it without getting "ghosted".

    Good question,

    I realized both are near worthless since Google introduced Panda. I had dozens of sites on top of Google for years, and poof, the all vanished and are now useless, so like most I have talked with, posting on free ad networks is now near worthless.

    I used Backpage for posting ticket sales. Brought in maybe 5% of the traffic a similar ad on CL would bring in, but it was still something. Maybe with a backpage poster, you could do some decent traffic.

    I used to be pretty good at not getting my ads ghosted. you have to keep using different titles and ad text, even if just a little different.

      Recently ive run into the same problems with craigslist, and ive thought about Backpage.com but really dont want too.
      I have used the same titles in my ads, and none of them showed up. Also i heard that if you browse through craigslist on firefox that CL cant pull the browser history and see you posting on thier server...

    I wouldn't be so quick to give up on Craigslist.
    While they can be temperamental, it's still a
    decent source of traffic. You just have to do
    the things required to NOT get ghosted.

    I get results from Backpage, but not as consistently
    as Craigslist.
