Affiliate Listbuilding - School Me?

Hi Warriors,

Ok I am not new to listbuilding as such but over the past 2 weeks I have been getting into affiliate marketing a lot more and am a little confused. Now lets say I am selling a product off of clickbank.

For arguments sake lets say I am selling "Cure Yeast Infection!" Now when I first started my campaign I setup a WP Blog with a decent keyword rich domain and have been writing and submitting articles. Around 2-3 a day. Now at first I would review the product and add a little info with my affiliate links at the end of my posts. Now I made a sale after 10 articles which was good.

But I started to think about listbuilding for the long term recurring business plan, so instead have turned by blog into more content and am giving away a FREE report in return for name and email!

My free report goes out and at the end of my free report I promote the clickbank product with my affiliate links. Is this the best most effective way of doing it???

Also the biggest question I got is. If my niche is the yeast infection niche and I offer the clickbank product in the first report, what else can I sell to my list further doen the line????? This I am confused about!

Do you send out a little more free info and hit the product again??? Somebody school me on niche list building!!

Also how many optins a day with FREE marketing methods should I be really hoping for!

Thanks in advance to anyone that can shed the light!

There are many ways to do this, free report, then free content, then affiliate product, then free product.

The truth is, you can do whatever you feel like- in a creative way. dont consistantly hard sell though! people are more catious now!

Yes, why not continue to supply related info in your followup emails and always have a link to the product - at least for the first 10-15 emails.

Then you can start offering related products in your emails.

    Hope This Helps!!

    Thanks Guys, it does!

    Just a few more questions:

If I am to set up around 10 followups should I add my affiliate links at the end of each!

Also to TL, What I am confused about is related products. For example if I promote "Cure Yeast Infection" and somebody buys, then obviously they will more than likely cur ethere problem. So what related product could I possibly offer?

    Thanks for the help guys!

Why not gently add your affiliate link?

Any type of female health related product could work - eventually.

    Weight loss, body cleaning stuff...

Just keep adding to your email sequence with quality health related info and include related products.

After 10 or so emails you can start mailing them at least once a week.

Don't forget to ask them to pass your info along to a friend. That could add 10% - 25% or more subscribers to your list just for asking.

How many optins should you expect a day with free traffic methods?

Who can answer that except you? I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but think of it like this.

Marketer A and Marketer B both use free traffic methods.

Mr. A submits one article once a week but Mr.B social bookmarks, blog comments, forum comments and writes three articles everyday. Will they both get the same traffic?

If you're using free traffic methods, the real, real, real ugly truth is you are going to have put in a bucket load of work to get some decent looking results. If you've got some vision though, you can see the longterm benefits of working hard for a couple months now. Furthermore, once you get good at it, make some money, you can outsource and streamline what you're doing.

Get some google analytics on your blog. Figure out where the most traffic is coming from, and then cut away the losing methods and put more effort into whats working.

Yeast infections, I don't know much about. I suspect (as you imply) that the market MIGHT be limited, but I am sure there are other related problems might have that might need solving. You've got to research your market though, gender, age, incom etc. Who is on your list?

You can then promote other products which deal with similar ailments, OR you can do a frank kern and a trey smith and release your own improved version of the product that you are an affiliate for. Don't assume that the product you got them to buy on clickbank will solve their probelm. If it was an ebook, some people don't learn very well from ebooks, they might prefer an audio course. I'm just thinking off the top of my head here.

But my BIG question is, if you don't know much about the niche, or think that its a limited niche, why would you even consider going into it? Go into a niche which has numerous income streams available to you. Weight loss for example, IM, society and recreation market (not a bad market either). If you think a niche or market is limited, don't focus too much time orresources on it. Instead, find a market, niche or hungry crowd which have numerous requirements and desires to fufil and enough products to service the demand.

I am writing this in my lunch break at work, so i hope some of it makes sense, and/or helps.

      Best of luck buddy.

The amount of optins you get using free traffic method is relative. And it all breaks down to how targeted your traffic is as well as how much traffic you get per day and how well your squeeze page converts.

However a fair optin rate would be around 30%. this means for every 100 visitors you can expect to get at least 30 visitors.

I always like to use free resources to build my lists, but my main goal is to over deliver on the value that people recieve through my free report/mini-course or info etc that way you build a good relationship with your list and they will always look forward to your emails rather than just cram affiliate links into every email

I use video capture pages which convert like a charm because people can see that your a real person, my opt in rate is currently about 64% which is pretty awesome and not to mention the value that i provide is hard to turn down

This is my strategy and i get great results and good feedback and your list will be very well pre-conditioned and not only that they will look forward to your emails rather than think "oh no not him again what is he going to sell me this time"

From what I've been told is that you should send about 5 emails with just good valuable information before sending an email pre-selling another product.

People will be more likely to buy from you when they feel you are just not a salesperson but instead you are helping them by offering them free valuable information.

you only want one link within your email (repeated once - three times), as prominent as possible. it does all depend on your niche, but i noticed that the same URL in the middle and end of the text email works pretty well. Give them value to click, but earn their trust throughout. and remember TEST TEST TEST!

Agreed for sure, you can do this with free e-report, then some free content or affiliate product, then generate your very own free product to entice your customers to opt in and keep them there! You can ultimately sell whatever you want through listings but avoid consistently selling them things, mix in some freebies, so they will be more receptive to your product offers.
