    Thanks

It would be great to hear from people who are making a living off article writing.

Search on the big "G" for answers , there are many sites where you can offer your services..
    oDesk , Frelancer and more..
Those 2 are just examples , the list goes on.
You just have to really try in order to suceed not just wait to for them to come.
Or you can look here on "warriors for hire" section.
    Good luck

    Hi Player87,

I was a successful copywriter for about 2 years and made a full-time income for a year and a half of those 2 years. It can be extremely lucrative and I enjoyed it a lot - the only reason I'm not doing it now is because of a personal choice I made to go a different way.

Here are a few ways in which I used to get clients:

    1. Email SEO companies - you can find them in Google by searching for "SEO company" or similar terms. Simply find their contact form and offer them your writing services.

    2. Warrior Forum & Others - Set up a thread offering your services in these forums.

These two methods alone are the best and only ways I use to get clients and it works well but it can be tough.

Stick with it - when you land a big client it'll be worth it!

I can see your very reasonable price, in your sig-file. At that end of the market, some of the clients tend not to survive for the long term. People demanding higher quality and higher standards (and paying a bit more for them) tend to know how to use the articles a little better, and as a result of that, their own businesses tend to do a little better.

There's a reason why people writing articles for $3 are permanently advertising for new clients, and people writing them for $30 aren't, and it isn't (as many imagine) typically because there aren't many writing them for $30: it's more often because those writers have clients who keep returning for more, so they don't need to exist on a basis of endless turnover/replacement of their customers.

What you can earn "writing for others", assuming only a standard of basic literacy which you clearly exceed, doesn't depend only on your writing skills: it depends more on your marketing skills.

Two things come to mind ...

First, if you read through the following recent threads, you'll find many helpful observations and suggestions.

Secondly, if you want to think a little more about "the markets in which ones chooses to compete, as a writer", you might find some of these resources helpful/interesting (and most of the recommendations in them for "further reading" will also be pretty reliable ones, I think):-

    Jennifer Mattern's blog

    Carol Tice's blog

Freelance writing jobs (minmum payment requirement of $50 per article to be listed there)

Free report on how to attract new freelance writing clients during a recession

    The Renegade Writer Blog

    The "Irreverent Freelancer" blog

The Well-Fed Writer: Lucrative Commercial Freelance Writing - Land Lucrative Freelance Writing Jobs

    Words on the Page.

    And good luck!

Have you tried using fiverr? You can place an ad or gig on that site and if you do not have experience writing, it is a great place to start. You have three days to complete an article and when someone likes your writing, they will continue to hire you.

    Good luck!

I would suggest doing whatever you can to get published, and get your name out there, and then obviously you could also post a lot of content to your blog to give people an idea of how well you write. Obviously you can't post something you have been paid for on your blog, but showing people what you can do is a great start. It will also give your blog some great content that will eventually get you more traffic / customers.

A $20 investment in a Warrior for Hire thread should get you started. You will still need to pay $20 every time you bump it back to the first page (after it reaches page 3), but many use that forum to get work.

My advice will be short and simple. Charge more and put an ad up in the Warrior for Hire Section. When your rates are super low some will assume the quality is not all that good.

Personally, I run a Warriors for Hire thread once in a while, and I write some for Constant Content.

I've found that I only need to bump my Warrior ad every couple of months as I have many regulars that keep me busy.

I've also begun to get a lot of word-of-mouth referrals lately from my regular customers too. That has been generating new clients for me for the last few weeks, so I haven't actually bumped my ad in quite a while.

I've never tried sites like fiverr or elance, as I think the pay is way too low, but some people have said they garner quite high rates at elance and other freelance sites, so it is worth at try. I think fiverr is more suited for quick and easy gigs for $4, not writing.

Fiverr is a great way to meet clients, if your good enough, they'll pay the increase in price eventually...

E-lance - and - I-writer are both very popular. I got 90% of my clients from fiverr, I also targeted an easy keyword for my writing service page.

My page has been Google dancing from 2 - 6 but staying on the first page.
