How long do you typically spend on your info products?

I am creating another ecourse to add to my info product catalogue. It is the first one that will be for release on the warrior forum. I have a timesheet of all the hours I've put into it so for. I've got about 29:40 hours into the project so far and probably have another 15-20 left.

I'm just a little curious as to how long it takes the average info marketer to put a project together from brainstorming, research, notetaking, writing etc. On average, how long do you spend?

I answered 30-45 but when I think about it, some of my best products that I've personally created have taken even longer if you consider everything from start of idea to launch of product. I take about a month to get it all done and pretty much work solid days on it. I know that I could outsource more but really then what would I do all day? I work on the parts I enjoy and outsource the technical stuff, but that still leaves me at least 40 hours per project over the course of a month before I even start working on promotions.

Of course I have some products I outsourced the creation of everything on...and one in particular took me less than 3 hours of work from start to finish.

My info product is nearly 2 weeks in the making, and I haven't written a single word of it yet. Right now I'm taking pictures of the whole process, which is proving to be harder than I thought it would be. I imagine assembling the ebook itself will take hardly any time in comparison.

Good question. It really depends on how large the product is. Usually a ghosted report only takes a day or two. The ebook that I'm featuring now, technically - years. I had to get the education for it. Research wouldn't have cut it on this one. The actual writing took a week or two but I couldn't say in hours because it wasn't the only thing I worked on all day.

I have one that only took a few days to write, but the research took a week or two even though I was familiar with many of the points I wrote about. I like to have my facts straight.

The one I am writing now? Should be about a week or week and a half, depending how many hours I put in. I already did all the research last year, which is why I am able to write "Saving Ricky" at all. The little guy had to survive, LOL.

It's kinda hard to judge time, because I never know how much writing it's going to take to cover the subject sufficiently. When I start a project, I just assume it's going to take awhile and don't start any time frames on launch until it's at least nearly finished.

If I had already tested, used, and classified the product, I could probably make the product info in about five hours. That is, writing the product article only.

I know my question is pretty vague. The only reason I worded it this way is so that I could account for all types of info products. Video/audio courses, ebooks, email courses, physical books, software etc. I am sure of one thing, this project I'm on right now is kicking my butt.

In extreme cases, it takes me 3 days to make an infoproduct

Fast Track Affiliate Marketing Power took me 2 days.

The Sept Profitably Convenient Fingertip WSOs package (350 pages) took me 2 days as well.

Smart First-time WSO Blueprint Creation took me about 5 hours.

I've been writing books since 1997...probably has something to do with it....
