Where to put the squeeze and sales page?

I'm just starting to learn about product building and email marketing / list building and I'm wondering where do you put a "squeeze"... and what I mean by that is do you register a completely new domain for the squeeze page and put it on there or ?

Someone elses product...?

What do you do if your promoting a product from Clickbank, do you create create a squeeze page and sales page of your own OR just a squeeze page? and if you just have a squeeze page then where do you upload that to if it doesn't have its own domain?

My own product...?
There are squeeze pages and sales pages... If I'm creating my own product, do you register a domain for your product domain and then put the sales page on the main domain and then the "squeeze" page on www.mysite.com/squeeze or how does this work?

If you're promoting another person's products they should already have a sales page and I'm not sure why you'd want to make a squeeze page for another person's product.

As for your own product you can make it so that people are signed up to your list automatically if they purchase your product so really all you need is a sales page unless you're giving it away as a freebie to get people on your list. In that case a squeeze page would be more appropriate.

You can also get a pop up opt-in box that appears on the sales page if people try to leave without buying and kill two birds with one stone if you want.

By "squeeze page" do you mean lead capture page? A page with a form to capture the visitors info?

    1) Buy a domain. I use NameCheap.com or 1and1.com
    2) Put your squeeze page on the domain.
    3) Once they optin, redirect them to the sales page.

    For example:

    Optin: http://www.MyDomain.com

    Redirects to:

    http://www.MyDomain.com/sl

    ... or

    http://www.theClickBankSalesLetter.com

In the case of promoting someone else's product, then typically you would have the following:

    1. A squeeze page designed to capture opt-in for people in your target market - after all, you ideally want to market them multiple products and services over time as long as you also give them some value incenting them to opt-in and stay in

    2. An email auto-responder sequence that builds trust and allows you to promote sales pages of products you promote - this can be done through reviews, personal use cases. testimonials or flat-out promotional emails. These should be mixed with delivering some related value to your audience

    3. Traffic generation pages - I prefer a blog which can be installed on the same domain, within a seperate folder so your site would look like www.mydomain.com/keyword+news/ where your blog would exist. Blogs or other content pages will draw traffic to your site which can then be directed toward the incentive on your squeeze page, capture the opt-in and then send them through your affiliate link toward the sales page of the product you are promoting.

In the case of your own product...

Same thing, except of course, in this case, the sales page is your own. I prefer setting my sales page on its own domain, but it could also be in a sub-directory of the same domain - either way works.

Wow that’s a lot of questions - let me try to answer them in order...

A squeeze page in generally a one page website designed to capture leads (e-mails)

The process of building a squeeze page works like this:
1.) Purchase a domain name (godaddy)
    2.) Get hosting (hostgator)
    3.) Get an autoresponder (aweber)
4.) Figure out what niche market you want to get into (Health, Wealth, relationship, and lifestyle)
5.) Create or purchase a complimentary gift to give away (Create your best product and give it away for free or purchase PLR)

List building is a relationship building business - In order to get your customers to opt-in you have to give away something of value. Your goal shouldn’t be what I can sell but what can I give away of VALUE in order for my potential prospect to sign up to my list.

6.) Create your squeeze page (outsource or learn how to create one yourself)

If you want to outsource and you're on a budget try fiverr.com, if you have a bit to spend then try odask.com, If you want to learn how to create your own then look into wordpress or an html editor like komposer)

7.) Traffic - Once you create the above steps you can focus on getting traffic to your site.

Once you've built a strong list you can begin to promote related niche affiliate products, services, or you could introduce your own product. (It’s really up to you)

If you’re promoting an affiliate product from click bank you do not need to create a sales page - One has already been created by the product creator.

Just create a free account with click bank – click on promote this product and you'll get a link to the affiliate’s sales page.

Focus on one thing at a time - If list building is your primary goal then stick with that and master the technique (it can get a bit overwhelming in the beginning)

Hope this helps - If you have anymore questions please feel free to reply or send me a private message..

    Good luck...

I agree with what the guys have said. Another way to work both squeeze and sales pages so that they convert is to link where your prospects come from and where they go to.

Example: Your on the Warrior forum and you want to send warriors to your squeeze page because you want them to opt-in for something.

    In this example you would:

Create a squeeze page specifically directed at warriors. The squeeze page mentions warriors on it. Something like "Glad you made it fellow warrior" or something like that. You kept continuity between where your prospect comes from and where they land, your warrior squeeze page. Now you collect that e-mail address from the warrior prospect.

If you want to sell them something you would send them to a sales page from your autoresponder. Again personalize your sales page to mention the warrior aspect.

I look at the soul purpose of a squeeze page to get the e-mail optin. A sales page to sell.

Say you're on another forum, facebook, twitter or whatever. You want to have a squeeze page for each. Sales page for each if you're after a sale.

Making that specific connection helps convert both optins and sales.

Instead of trying to grab an optin via squeeze page or sale via sales page directly on your site, you might find it better to have great content that attracts prospects, have optin forms sprinkled throughout your site, plus numerous "landing type" squeeze and sales pages that you can send prospects to directly from social places you belong to.

You don't just have to have one squeeze or sales page. You can have many differently worded and designed pages so they relate to your prospects interest.

Thanks. Would you direct them to the sales page in the email they recieve once they opt-in or would you direct them to the sales page RIGHT AFTER they put in there email on the opt-in page?

Thanks a lot for your help. How do I find out about what the best niche is to get into? How do I find out what people WANT/NEED?

Where would you put the squeeze page? On the root domain www.mysite.com or somewhere else?

And, if your promoting a clickbank/affiliate product where would you host the squeeze page? (on the root domain mysqueezepage.com)

Thanks a lot! I see, so I can have MANY different squeeze/sales pages targeting different groups of the market, but at the same time still selling ONE product..

BUT say I have 10 different squeeze pages each targeting different groups of people like teens, moms, older people, etc.. can I have a auto-responder send them each a different email that says something like "Hey TEEN thanks for signing up..." or "Hey MOM thanks for signing up"?

What is a "landing type" page? Is that a page that is both a squeeze page and sales page? not sure how that works really...

Give them a free gift and your squeeze page is good to go whether it's your own product or else an affiliate one.

The choice is entirely yours whether you want to have a new domain or use an existing one to create your squeeze page on. You do not have to buy a new domain just to be able to create your squeeze page so long as your domain name is generic. It also depends on what kind of subscribers are in your list and if you are building a brand name for your business. Some people care about what domain is being used for what products they are marketing. Some don't bother too much. So you have to identify your business model needs and requirements and decide for yourself.

In answer to this part of your question :

"BUT say I have 10 different squeeze pages each targeting different groups of people like teens, moms, older people, etc.. can I have a auto-responder send them each a different email that says something like "Hey TEEN thanks for signing up..." or "Hey MOM thanks for signing up"?

Then yes you can - any service like mine can do this easily enough. You will just create different signup forms for each landing page - takes a few minutes - and direct them to your thank you page - which can have their names even placed on that page if you want. Then have separate email messages for each group. As well you can segment your signups into different groups. Of course I recommend you use their actual name in your emails instead of Mom or Teen

  • Best strategy for affiliate product promotion is..

Traffic (Not your email traffic) > Your squeeze page > Their Affiliate Page

    The domain name is irrelevant.

If you are selling your product then you should host and control everything

This assumes you have a website, Autoresponder, and freebie hosted so you can link to it.

    What you will need:

    #1 A squeeze page
#2 A OTO (one time offer) page
    #3 A freebie thank/download page
#4 A "register your purchase" page for one time offer buyers
    #5 A paid product thank/download page

Set up two lists in your AR. A subscribers list and a OTO buyers list. You will need to learn your ARs automation process to automatically unsub people who register their purchase and join your buyers list.

For settings for your subscribers (squeeze page) form select "custom thank you page" enter the URL of your OTO. I always use single opt so subscribers are instantly sent to my OTO. I also put on my squeeze page "...will be sent instantly to your inbox." This way when people land on my OTO they won't wonder where their freebie is.

If people decline your OTO they leave, and access their freebie via the link to your freebie thank/download page that you sent to their email via your first followup message. More complex funnels have more to offer.

If they buy your OTO they are redirected by your payment processor to your "register" page. Enter it's URL when you setup your buy button.

When people register they are automatically moved to your buyers list and redirected to your thank/download page. Enter it's URL for your buyers form custom thank you page.

You can tweak this basic set-up in any way you choose.
