One week left... how to attract an affiliate army?

I don't want to endorse my product in this thread, that's not the point.

I just want some suggestions on how to attract some more JV partners for my upcoming product launch.

The only problem is the launch is a week away.

I already have a cash prize contest going and an easy sign up process in place. 60% commissions as well.

What else would an affiliate really want for gods sake! LOL

Please suggest some ideas that you might have!

    Steve -

With the window you've got I'd look at
a JV broker - which could be anyone
with an active list of affiliates who could
make a second-tier commission from any
activity their affiliates produce for you.

    Also, same general theme, consider
contacting someone who has sold a
    product *to* affiliate marketers specifically
and either pay to have them promote your
program or pay on a 2nd-tier commission.

Once you have a bunch of affiliate's on
board, then you won't have this expense
in the future. For now, it's probably a
good investment that will help you sell
more even if you're earning less per sale.

You could also worry less about getting a
lot of affiliate's on board (I'm assuming this
is an IM product) and focus on landing a
few key partners who could produce a lot
of sales, then work to turn your customers
    into affiliates.

    Hey Steve,

Look up Michael Brown and Kevin Riley. They have something that works like a JV brokerage site. You can probably reach them by PMing if you don't have their immediate contact info.

    Hi Steve,

Can you postpone your launch? Or perhaps "soft launch" it now and then roll out a bigger launch later? (Or do a relaunch later.)

The reason I ask is because your launch date is a week away. If you're looking to get some of the big players on board, less than a week may be too little time for them.

First, they need to review the product. Then (ideally) they would help with building pre-launch anticipation. At this point you're likely past one week.

Also, lots of newsletter publishers have their schedules figured out several weeks ahead of time (or longer). And those who regularly promote other people's products may already be promoting something in the coming week -- so even if they had time to review your product, they won't have room in their publishing schedule to promote.

I know this isn't exactly what you asked for, but I just wanted to throw in that coupla cents for you to consider.

    Cheers,
    Becky

p.s. Now that I think about it, this does have something to do with your original question. That's because one thing that helps get affiliates on board is making them feel special. If you contact them with a less than a week to go, they're going to feel like they're an "after thought."

BTW -- all of this is assuming you actually want them to promote on the launch day or soon after. If you're just looking for affiliates and you don't care if they promote next week or next month, then follow the tips everyone else is giving.

Asking is actually a good way to do it. I am in. :-)

Now, go and contact as much people online that is in the IM niche. Try twitter as you can and may get response in minutes.
