Top questions about selling websites on Flippa...

Warriors, I'm thinking about selling a series of related websites on flippa. Most of them have ebooks, and are simple HTML sites. One is a bigger Wordpress site with just content.

My main question is this, if I sell all of them on Flippa, what is the best way to move all of the sites over to the new owner? I've never really done this.

Would I just simply save the Public HTML folder of each of the html sites, then when we change the name servers, etc. I can just give them each Public HTML folder to upload?

What about the larger Wordpress site?

ANY help or tips would be greatly greatly appreciated. I just don't want to mess anything up.

Thanks!

With html sites, just copy the folder to the new server, but with the wordpress one you also need to move the DB. There is plugin that make it very easy to do, search in google for: plugin DB backup

    Hope this helped...

Yes, that's it. Your buyer should be able to install the DB in PhpMyAdmin asumming she/he use a cpanel hosting

For those of you who have sold websites on Flippa, did you use a contract as well, and even had it notarized?

Here's instructions. For the html sites, just skip the database part.

Outsource the transfer part for a Fiverr. I used this gig when I needed to transfer my WP blogs: beerplz: I will move your website from your current host to another for $5 on fiverr.com

The transfer should be no problem.

The domain names can usually easily be "pushed" from wherever you registered your domain.

As for the actual content, you could run a backup right from Cpanel and give the backup to the buyer. I myself use a wordpress backup/cloning plugin called "backupbuddy"...it creates an archive of whatever site and you can very quickly restore it to a new host. Also..if i sell a site i usually always offer my help for such matters as a bonus.
