Cart.com Domain Sells For $49,999 At Sedo

Cart.com sells for $50k. Given that 4-letter domains are so difficult to find, this one may have been a bargain basement price.

Social.com sold for $2.6 million -- just for the domain name.

Speaking of which, DomainName.com sold for $1 million. :p

    Damn...a $1M return on a $10 investment !!

I have a couple of really short 2 word domains that I think are worth a fortune, but whenever I have them valued they usually come back with a $50-$150 range valuation...

yet another occasion where I wish I had scooped up a ton of domain names back in the day...

Although having an easy to remember word as your domain provides great benefits, I still don't think it's worth the price a lot of domains are going for. I'd rather come up with some random word (google), and add meaning behind it to build a brand.

I have two 6-letter domains that I am going to use to brand an offer.

Was there a lot of traffic coming to cart.com or was it just the name? $50k is a lot of bank for a domain.

Wow, whoever got cart.com received it at a definite bargain price! I would value it at at least $100K. It's a great domain name for shopping, it's one word and it's only four letters, definitely contains a lot of potential. I'll look out for these types of auctions. They're definitely something I can buy, build on, and then flip for 5x their value.

Makes me wish I could go back to the early days and buy up some domain names, if that's a bargain basement price!

Domain names = Real Estate. The name means nothing, its what can be built on that name that means everything.

If only I had a time machine, I would go back and snap up a few of these domains!
