I HAVE $10k to SPEND on Banner Ads - What do you think???

I have $10k to spend on banners ads, I'm looking to advertise on Business & Small Business | News, Advice, Strategy | Entrepreneur.com and Information for the World's Business Leaders - Forbes.com

I'm looking at creating a landing page with strong call to actions for a FREE Website Consultation to increase leads/rankings.

Do you think I would get a lot of leads/business and strong ROI?

These 2 sites get tons of traffic from business owners and this would be a great offer.

Thoughts?

I think you will be looking at massive CPMs and you will burn through 10k fast.

The only way to be sure is to test it, you could try Linkdin ads also, might be a bit cheaper and its a self serve platform with pretty good targeting stuff like industry and position

You think LinkedIN would be more effective than those sites?

I think your nuts to use the money for banner advertising. There are a lot better ways to spend it and generate a lot more money. In fact - put 9k back in the bank. One k will go a long way in product creation.

      Har!

      Har! Har!

      WTF??

My company routinely spends WAY MORE than $10K on Banners and we could never have been happier. Just because you never tried it (or never tried it long enough to see the light at the end of the tunnel) doesn't mean you KNOW it.

Have you ever tried banner ads? Even once?

If yes, how many different campaigns? With how much budget?

If no, what makes you an expert?

      @OP

My only advice to you is to test small and cut the losers FAST. That's it.

      Happy Bannering...

What networks would you recommend for banner ads? I tried buysellads and that was a waste of money

You should really dive into some automation software. I would consider buying Places Scout for running reports for your clients. The information is one of a kind and the support is even better. Check out more information in my article review down in my signature.

I think you'll benefit from some software/WSO's to understand where you want to put that money. I'm still confused with wanting to spend 10k on banners! Seems better spent elsewhere

I was a media buyer at a major online site for about a year. One of the tricks we used was to add a cancellation clause to the contract when buying banner ads. Most required a 30 day commitment, but we always added a 48 hour cancellation. This allowed us to cancel the campaign in 2 days if we did not get the desired results from the traffic being sent. Not all companies agreed to it. We only did business with those that did. Our budget was about six figures a month, but it will work with your smaller budget too.

Instead of banner ads, spend on PPC-adwords

I highly doubt you will be get any decent return with your banner. I would advise you to try it out on other related sites first so that you can get an idea of the potential ROI. You can try sites on networks such as

    Tribal Fusion
    Industry Brains
    Value Click Media
