Is The FBI Really Shutting Down The Internet?

It's amazing how people can get the context of the article wrong.

No doubt lots of people on the affected IP ranges will claim it's a conspiracy when they can no longer access the internet

the question is Can they shut it down.
The internet is on millions of computers they cant just put it off like a light switch.
And on the other hand it would cost billions of dollars "if" the internet is shut down.

So my answer on this is that the FBI cant shut it down. its impossible.

In fact, they could create a serious disturbance quite fast. They don't have to affect all of the computers to achieve this. But it would cost trillions of dollars actually (as they call billions in America).

Looks like a good time for people to clean out their computers - and to buy reading glasses so they know what is going on instead of saying that the FBI is shutting down the web. Do note that most businesses in America are online now and if the web were to just be slammed down it would effect the whole economy. I don't think that it's come to a point that even an evil dictator would be dumb enough to try to pull that one off.

FBI is not shutting down anything ...
Why do people blow this kind of stuff out of proportion ... I mean, do you guys think before claiming those bold statements? Do you really think they just going to drop 4mil people off the internet? Most likely the problem was fixed already.
Reminds me of the year 2000 when everyone thought computers going to crash ...
