I wish I knew this when I was a newbie

Hi Warrior..
First time I knew affiliate marketing, I got confused and had to deal with too much information about SEO, article marketing and even Pay for advertising my website. Now, I finally know two shortcuts to finally make money from affiliate marketing and both of them are related to build list

First : PLR
I think, this is one of my biggest mistake. I want to create my own freebie instead of purchasing the right to give it away to my subscribers. And, it kills me. I delay the process of making squeeze page just because I am a bit lazy to write, to think and to setup a high quality squeeze page.
Moral of the story :
Just purchase a high quality PLR that includes squeeze page. I am recently joining Liz and Jeff membership for about $5/month and get many freebies to giveaway. By spending $5, I can save time and money and I setup this website for only in 2 hours (Ok, I have to admit, I am a bit slower in setting it )
Here is my website : http://myownsocialmediatactics.com/

Second
SEO is important but hey, we want something fast. So, Just try solo ads. The best place to find people who offer solo ads is : Reed Floren's Solo Ad Directory
Spend the money regularly to buy solo ads and after getting enough subscribers, just do ad-swap with others to add more subscribers.
Now, the question is :
Why should I purchase solo ads if I can get subscribers for free from SEOing and article marketing?
Ok. You can do that. But it takes your time while time is money. The worst thing is, you are exhausted to try and you quit.
So, just try solo ads. You may use the website that you get from PLR so, after reading this article, you may setup your first solo-ads.

I have no experience in solo ads. What Should I do?
Err...I am not an expert in solo ads but let me share you one of my experiences.
I purchase solo ads from this man :
My Results From Cal Champlin’s Solo Ads | Solo Ad Directory
Why?
Because I see positive feedback and he always responds in the blog post so, he must be a good person to work with.
I use http://myownsocialmediatactics.com/ and writing short email about my product.
To me personally, I do not like a too-long email so, just make it short and straight to the point.
I purchase 125 clicks for $40.
After I ordered, Cal tends not to confirm the date so, just ask him through email and he will reply about when your website will be promoted to his subscribers.
By spending $40, I've got 75 subscribers so, I spend around $0.5/subscriber. Not bad 

Anyway, I have ever purchased solo ads from fiverr but no result. I do not know whether it is just my bad day or Fiverr sellers can not be counted as solo ad providers. But, to me personally, I will not use fiverr for solo ads. Anyway, if you succeed with fiverr, feel free to share with me.
I think it's long enough and I really wish that I knew this when I was a newbie.
I hope it helps.
Remember : To be success in Internet Marketing, we need to invest time and money so, do not be focused on only free tricks. Try to start paying and ease your process.

Regards

Ivana

Ivana, thanks so much for sharing this!

I was watching a training video from a WSO I bought last night and I'm learning about solo ads. I didn't know about them! So I jumped over here to the forums to see what people are saying about solo ads and ad swaps, and I found your timely post.

I have been making product review sites for a year and a half now, using only seo for organic search traffic. But it is finally time for me to start getting serious about building a list.

Thanks for sharing this valuable advice!

I have been buying solo ads as well, but I haven't made so much success from there. Have you tried Directory of Ezine's 2.0? It's a great directory. Google it.

Hmmm, I need to take a better look at some of that plr I have getting dusty on my HD. I got it to use and then keep getting hung up with the thought of needing to do a complete re write. It's time to re think that whole process. Do a nice opening, closing add in some affiliate links and start moving it.

Thanks for helping me think through that and get off the dime.

Thanks for that. A very common sentiment that's expressed is that people always wish they had built a list earlier. List building is truly the heart and soul of internet marketing. Using solo ads to jump start a list is a great way to start.

      Hi..
I used to build list through forum and SEO and now realize that solo ads ease my life. My list is not 100% converting and sometimes I got depressed but I guess, I have to give more valuable freebies and info to finally convert it

Yup. I have ever made one fool mistake when I was newbie. That's the time when I use blogspot for my main money generator blog and there;s a time when Google delete it and I can not do anything. From that time, I started using paid domain and hosting.

I've picked up some great tips. I've only used freebies so far, but I 'm definitely going to look into solo ads. My list is growing, so that's a good start, but now, I want to take it to the next level.

Yea a 0.01% conversion is very bad. You have to buy solo ads from reputable sellers - search this forum - and build a list at the same time. The list should be suitable for your offer – ask the list seller!
Building a list means you can send the offer a few times to the same person as people seldom respond the first time they see something new.
You can then send other offers to the same list that may resonate with different potential customers than the previous 'email drop'. This makes the whole solo ad thing profitable.

Only offer the best stuff via a top converting squeeze capture page. Also keep testing what converts best. Frequently send your list some valuable stuff for free!

There are some excellent courses on how to do it...

I have been listbuilding with 2 services: ListJoe.com and ListBonus.com

The second one seems to be either owned by or a "cousin" to ListJoe.com. You've probably heard of ListJoe.com, with the Free account, they allow you to send up to 6000 emails to members per week. With ListBonus.com it's 1000/wk.

My CTR with ListJoe is typically around 1.5-2.0%, so typically I will get 100+ sets of eyeballs on my Squeeze page with them. While with ListBonus.com I typically get around 4% CTR, so around 40 people get to see my offer. That's around 150 people a week who get a chance to join my list. And it's free.

Of course you can upgrade and get more of this and that, but for a Free, it's not too shabby.

Thank you for the original post by ivanadee

This won't make you rich overnight, but it's a steady method that works.

@mafilippone : building list with SEO is also great. There's nothing wrong with it. But it needs time and sometimes we quit because we are tired of waiting XD. So, solo ads is a cool shortcut. If u dont want to spend money, then u have to spend time and..vice versa

I understand your feeling. That's the feeling when you have spent so much for solo ads and nothing converts everytime you offer something.
It's not about whether the list convert or not but it is about you, who finally, build a list.
The list maybe not convert so, just add your list. After having good number of list, just do ad swap. After having good number of list, give valuable info to your list first and do not keep offering them IM product. Then, after they purchase, ask them to sign up for your new list : A list that really converts, because they come from your list that buy.As additional, I never try Giveaway events to build list (I know it from Kim Roach) but it's seemed to be worked
I hope it can give some good ideas about conversion.
I would love to learn more about building list so just let me know what u think about it.

Thank you for sharing. I think the important thing for a newbie to remember is that IM is a lot of hard work. It can be incredibly rewarding, but there is work involved and the longer you put it off the longer it will take to start reaping the benefits.
