List Building - What Products to Offer?

Hey Guys,

So I've been taking the advice of you helpful people here on WF, plus following the method of Chris P Kent, and am starting to slowly build a list.

It's a Mixed Martial Arts list, and the plan is to send them useful, quality information and videos, then about every fourth e-mail, make them an offer.

I have one product to sell them, which is great, but, then what? How would I know what other sort of products to try to sell them, which are related?

Also, how many follow up messages do you recommend sending to each list, in total?

Thanks as always

Oh, and if you're interested to know, the product I'm selling them is a strength and conditioning program, by a guy who actually trains UFC fighters!

    You answered yourself, 'related products'.

Things that you have actually looked at yourself and that you know will help them.

Other than that, the only way you will know if they like them is through trying and testing.

You can always segment your list in to different sections so that you can provide your subscribers with content that is super targeted to what their needs and goals are.

Cool, thanks! I'm very new to this, so appreciate all the help I get

I was thinking, if it's a mixed martial arts list, where the first product I've offered them is a strength and conditioning program, a second offer may be fighting equipment, such as gloves, sparring hats etc. But then I wonder, if I can't find stuff like that on ClickBank, then where would I find it?!

Also, any ideas on how many follow up messages to send in total?

Have you looked on Amazon? There are plenty of physical product affiliate sites out there, just need to find the right products.

You don't have to strictly stay in that niche market though - think about your target audience, 99% male, 18-40 mainly and have money to spend without much thought. This is the perfect audience to market to as they are driven by thrill, adrenalin and entertainment.

Think outside the box, you can have like a weekly Friday newsletter with cool sh*t you promote that is targeted heavily for the youth market, eg. something they can wear to the UFC the following weekend to impress the ladies, look at this site for example:

ThisIsWhyImBroke.com - ThisIsWhyImBroke is where you'll find cool gift ideas, unique products, and awesome birthday and christmas gift ideas. With hundreds of reasons to spend every penny you've got, ThisIsWhyImBroke features amazing produc

or just promote one of the many ab workout programs out there.

Build a solid relationship, and they'll buy it!

starting up is the longest journey, you just have to build your foundation and work up from there, it gets easier trust me.

I'd advise to have a kick ass email sequence from signup, 5-10 great quality messages/video and get them involved. REALLY try and refine it, put yourself on the list and see how it translates as a prospect, you'll pick out a few things that don't work, even the smallest things like capital letters and the subject line.

Cool, thanks! I searched for quite a long time before I decided what product to sell, and chose this guy's, as he has tonnes of high quality information I can use to send out to my e-mail list. I have a sequence so far of 3 good quality information e-mails, then an offer.

With your permission, could I PM you via WF the sales e-mail, so you could offer your opinion?

              Thanks dude

Woah, ok, just some healthy analysis, I'm not all that familiar with the niche but from my experience, though a long drawn out email probably won't convert well as compared to a shorter, direct alternative...I could be wrong, though it's just not the 'usual' way of doing this.

I realize you are trying to put the sell from your perspective, but I would find this too persuasive even though I might have built abit of trust to your prior emails - it's still too much 'selling'.

What I did find very unusual was when I clicked 'CLICK HERE' it lead me straight to the payment page....now as a potential prospect, that could be dangerous as i don't know what I'm buying and to have a little preview of the product in the image at the top I'm inclined to find out more but I've been cornered into buying it just from your word. If you know what I mean. This can leave a sour taste in the subscribers mind and more than likely if you did it again, they'd unsubscribe. Just IMO.

It's all about marketing at the end of the day. The buyer has to go through a decision making process and if you try to persuade and rush them, it just won't work.

No need to reinvent the wheel, if I was you, just do a simple 2-3 paragraph email with brief description and cloak the Clickbank link to the product direct. Have the product sell itself as this is what it has been designed to do (if it's good).

The ultimate is to make a link to your own website/blog and do a video of YOU actually talking about the product and the results etc and why it is beneficial for them. This will convert waaaay better, hands down. Hope that helps.

affiliate products are ok to use to make money but the real money is with your own products

create a low priced product which you can sell to your list after giving them plenty of free value

by doing this not only will you be building your own list of buyers but you will be finding out which of your prospects have the "ability to pay"

if they dont buy a $5 from you then you dont have much chance selling a $47 product to them
