Few months ago I registered a domain name and today I was planning to develop a site on it. While googling for the exact word of the domain name (exactword.com) I found out that word is used by a company and it is a LLC. The company name is:

exactword investment fund llc

The domain is not registered on any other extension other than the one I registered (.com). Should I go ahead and develop the website? It will be an entertainment website.

Thank you

Ummm you should try and sell it to them, do it like this post the domain for sale at some domain auction site and email them about it

      DO NOT DO THIS.

It can give the appearance of the domain being registered in 'bad faith', ie. to extort money from the company. Also known as 'cyber-squatting', this kind of practice could see you hit with a lawsuit and/or losing your domain and website for nothing.

This is absolutely true. If the company wants the domain, they'll make an offer. Do not contact them to sell it to them. Go with your entertainment site.

I would develop if it's not in the entertainment industry. Two people can register the same trademark if they are in different categories.

Thanks everyone. I also searched the internet and read posts of different attorneys regarding this matter. They all think the same as you all.
