A simple traffic strategy that works in a similar way to a viral friend getter but is totally legitimate and not black hat.

I have a Facebook Group with over 1700 members in for a particular niche I operate in. I have spent a lot of time building a positive relationship with the members, not bombarding them with emails but real quality stuff.

Two days ago I sent every member a message asking them to invite all their friends to join the group and then to write on the group wall a message of support and the number of people they invited.

The result has been explosive with over 200 new members joining immediately and from the posts on the wall I can see that thousands have been invited to join.

I have added the same 'Please Invite Your Friends To Join Message' to my signatures on some of my email signatures for certain of my lists and sites ... this stuff is simple, free and dynamite ... no bribe or reward, just a friendly request. Guess what it works too.

    No Racerman - what we are talking about is the Groups feature on FB.

    You can start a group and invite others to join. These groups are amazing because you can pm the members at any time ... so are as effective as having an email list.

    Although once I get people in my group the next step is to encourage them to join my list by visiting one of my sites.

    Interesting tip John, thank you for sharing. Developing sub groups on facebook seems to be a new source of traffic generation, and makes a great alternative to facebook advertising, I'm glad I discovered it here. Thank you for your post!
